Marketing Committee Recommendations for Marketing Funding Jim Gibson Action Requested of Council: Discuss proposed increase to provide additional funds for the marketing. Give staff direction for drafting possible ordinances, if necessary. Background Rationale: The Marketing Committee held a public meeting last Tuesday night at the Westin Hotel with 70 people present. They have considered the public input from that meeting and now are bringing their recommendations to the Town Council. 2:30 2. Discussion of Purchase of a Hot Air Balloon Mike Cacioppo Action Requested of Council: Receive and discuss Mike Cacioppo's presentation regarding the purchase of a hot air balloon. 2:50 3. Background Rationale: Staff will present an overview of the latest version of the 1989 budget including the exact mill levy increase for the street improvement program, fund balances, etc. 3:25 4. EAGLE COUNTY 100,000 The funding recommendations are as follows: VAIL $400,000 (TOV $175,000 Bus. Lic. new $225,000) AVON/BEAVER CREEK 75,000 SKI COMPANIES 130,000 PROPERTY TAX 165,000 (TOV $114,000, B.C. $33,000, AVON $18,000) TOTAL $870,000 The funds within the Council's control are the $175,000 general fund contribution, the Business License fee and the increase to the mill levy. Jim will specifically be addressing the mill levy increase necessary to raise $113,000 and the committee's rationale for this request.
