POST OFFICE BOX 1268 VAIL, COLORADO 81658 ~~" ~~~~ 1518 November 15, 1988 Office of the Mayor 75 South Frontage Rd. Vail, CO 81657 Dear Kent: In response to the marketing survey received from ttie Town of Vail, I would like to express my concerns as follows. As a small owner-operated design business located in East Vail, I would benefit little and indirectly from increased marketing promotion from the Town of Vail. As with many small service related businesses in Vail, our main adver- tisement comes from a satisfied client .passing the word. Altho I believe that an assessment to generate funds for marketing is a necessary thing, I also believe that more weight should be applied on the basis of amount of gross revenue actually generated by increased marketing. Perhaps a wider range of fees should be developed based on gross revenue; i.e. a $100.00 to >150.00 range, taking into consideration how much of that gross revenue is actually influenced by tourist dollars. I will be grateful for your consideration of these concerns. Sincerely, A~r ~- Margare S. Burdick BLMARK BUSINESS LICENSE FEE FOR MARKETING 1988 SURVEY RESULTS 11/14/88 12:15 P.M. Frontage Rd. West Vail, CO 81657 Dear Council Members: We so appreciated the time spent by Pam Brandemeyer, Karen Morter, Martha Jensen, and Georgie bianzanares at Red Sandstone Elementary School registering the students to vote. The students really took it very seriously and even took their registration forms to show on the day of the election. This was truly a great educational experience for the students and could only have been possible with sup- portive people such as these ladies. We sincerely thank them for their time and commitment. Sincerely, Doris Currence Counselor Red Sandstone Students and Staff
