Brandmeyer, Town Clerk MEMORANDUM T0: Pat Dodson, M D Director FROM: Ron Phillips DATE: August 9, 198 SUBJECT: Capital Improvements Project Requests This memo will outline my understanding of what occurred at yesterday's Town Council meeting pertaining to your capital improvement requests for 1990. 1. Rinktex Floor. The Town Council agreed that the first two years out of a five year replacement program would be the Town of Vail's responsibility at a figure of approximately $15,000 a year. This item would be prioritized with the Town's regular capital improvements prioritization system, and whether that item could be done those two years would depend on its level of priority and the level of capital funding available. 2. Building Permit Fees and TOU Financial Participation in Ford Park Tennis Court Development Project. The Town Council agreed to waive the building permit fees for the Ford Park tennis court project this year in exchange for the VMRD providing Town of Uail employee golf and tennis passes. The Town Council also agreed to be responsible for recreation path paving and realigning in the amount of $11,883. 3. Rubber Matting in the Ice Arena Lobby. The Town Council considers this an operational item which they agree could be done over a three to five year period. As an operational item, the Town Council feels there should be no Town of Vail subsidy for the rubber mats in the Ice Arena. 4. Swimming Pool Complex. The Town Council felt the swimming pool complex should stand on its own, and all costs be included in the financing process through a bond issue. The Town Council declined to participate in funding a portion of the swimming pool complex. I think the process that we have gone through is what both Boards agreed to and the Town Council expressed their appreciation for you developing the VMRD requests in this manner, and presenting them to the Town Council. Thank you for your presentation yesterday at the Council meeting. Memorandum - Pat Dodson August 9, 1989 Page 2 We need to schedule another Town Council/VMRD Board Subcommittee meeting for sometime in September. September 1:1, 13, and 14 all look open to me.
