submitted letters for reappointment. No other letters were submitted.

ACTION REQUESTED OF COUfVCIL: No action requested. This is an
x informational update.
BACKGROUIVD RATIONALE: The purpose of this report is to provide an
update on environmental health related projects and actions identified in
the Tovun of Vail Environmental Strategic Plan. The Vail Environmental
Strategic Plan provides a long-term vision to protect Vail's environmental
quality. The vision statement is the cornerstone for the goals, and action
plans that are identified in this plan. The Environmental Strategic Plan
was adopted on November 5, 1994. It provides a work plan for the next 4
to 5 years. In 1996, the Town of Vail received national recognition from
Renevv America (a national award committee) for implementing an
outstanding environmental program and was placed in a international
database of environmental success stories.
