This bill was incurred due to the improper placement of the water main at the beginning of construction. The shallow placement was discovered immediately before paving was to begin. After two days of mediation, all parties have reached an agreement to resolve all issues with a reduction in the amount to be paid and a sharing of those costs. The Town of Vail's share will be $8,000 in cash and a loan of $5,000 to fund the settlement for the Stevens Group.
