ITEM /TOPIC: Summit County Tour of Affordable Housing Properties

ACTION REQUESTED OF COUNCIL: The work session is informational only
and no formal action will be taken during this tour.
Proposed itinerary with estimated times as follows:
11:00 AM Depart Vail Municipal Building (Town of Vail bus)
12:00 PM Arrive at Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant (600 South Park Avenue),
Breckenridge, Lunch with Breckenridge Town Council & Summit Combined

1:00 PM Depart for Tour of all Affordable Housing Projects
1:10 PM Tour Valley Brook Neighborhood, 1100 Airport Road, Breckenridge
2:00 PM Tour Ophir Mountain Village, Peak One Circle, Frisco
2:30 PM Tour Peak One Neighborhood, 257 Belford Street, Frisco
3:15 PM Depart Frisco for Vail
4:00 PM Arrive Vail Municipal Building
Attendees: Vail Town Council, Vail Management Team, Vail Housing Authority,
Summit Combined Housing Authority Staff
BACKGROUND: The updated Chamonix Parcel Market Analysis Study was
presented at the May 20, 2014 Vail Town Council meeting by Melanie Rees of
Rees Consulting, Inc.. This report was drafted to help guide future decision making
with regard to the potential for development on the site. It was suggested by the
consultant the Town Council tour some of the more successful affordable housing
properties in neighboring communities, such as Summit County and Aspen. This
tour includes three Summit County properties.
