BACKGROUND: The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting in celebration of the completion of the new Lionshead Parking Structure Entry and Skier Drop Off Improvements. The Council Action Plan identifies in Focus Area III a priority to "continually elevate the quality of the Vail experience". This capital project improves the entry areas into the Lionshead Parking Structure with new booth attendant stations, canopy and building along with installation of landscaping and irrigation, as well as provides an enhanced skier drop off at the lower level along with an express exit. In addition, the Town has installed new parking equipment at both the Lionshead and Vail Village structures improving to gates, ticket dispensers, and parking management software. 2. The findings presented here are intended to delve deeper into the Guest Experience and Net Promoter Scores, which, while strong, have trended downward during this time period over the last three years. 6. Commissioner Pratt recused himself due to a perceived conflict. Planner Spence introduced the project and reviewed the criteria it was evaluated against. Todd Oppenheimer delivered an overview of the proposed changes to the Ford Park playground. Commissioner Hopkins supported the proposal Commissioner Cleveland pointed out a mislabeling of the elevation drawings. Cleveland asked where the path ties into the existing path. Commissioner Rediker asked for a clarification on the proposed grass -pave system. Commissioner Martin asked about the operation of the restrooms. Oppenheimer said it would be three seasons. Martin asked about handicap accessibility. Oppenheimer explained the ADA layout. Martin asked about vehicular access and lighting. Oppenheimer said access would not change. Lighting will match what is out there already on other recently completed buildings. 1P/d@62Q14 Commissioner Cleveland asked what trees need to be removed. Oppenheimer said the two larger ones would need to be removed and would be relocated per the plan. Commissioner Kurz asked if the height of the building would change. Final comments: Hopkins said she liked it. Cleveland thought the changes were all positive other than the loss of lawn. Martin and Rediker agreed. 2. Lionshead is the kid's zone; Solaris is a live site, with huge screens to show live race, there will also be hospitality houses in Vail. Various other topics were discussed, including lodging, fan groups, television broadcasting, volunteers and logistics. Town Manager Report, Stan Zemler Zemler gave updates on demolition of the Roost and the eastern half of Timber Ridge as well as the housing shortage and the projected start on the redevelopment of the Golf Course clubhouse. Town -wide revenue continues at a favorable pace with September sales tax estimated to be up 5.7% from last year. Year to date increases 8.6% from 2013 and 1.1 % from amended budget. 2015 revenue projections are estimated at 6% above 2014. Lodging Report, Chris Romer According to DestiMetrics, Vail occupancy and ADR are pacing ahead for the winter season of 2014/15 compared to the same time last year for 2013/14 season. Additionally, Vail is pacing ahead of the industry in occupancy and ADR for the upcoming ski season.
