(Please use this draft)਍ഀ From: "Bobby Bank" <bobbybank@hotmail.com>਍ഀ To: "Special Events" <specialevents@vailgov.com>਍ഀ Date: 6/18/2009 2:53 PM਍ഀ Subject: Re: Special Meeting take 2! (Please use this draft)਍ഀ Hi Sybil/CSE members,਍ഀ I have a conflict with work and I can't make the special meeting but I਍ഀ wanted to share my feelings about the Vail Film Festival. Could you please਍ഀ share this with everybody.਍ഀ It is my feeling that we should NOT give them any comments regarding thier਍ഀ request and that they should be encouraged to submit their application along਍ഀ with everyone else by the current deadline. I don't think it's right to਍ഀ comment about a future application without having all of the਍ഀ applications/budget numbers in front of us so that we can make informed਍ഀ decisions.਍ഀ For the "stratagy" part of our discussion, It seems to me that if the Beaver਍ഀ Creek Resort Company wants this event bad enough to out bid us, we really਍ഀ can't get into a bidding war with them. I feel that since this event occurs਍ഀ when there is another event at the same time, then we should not fund them਍ഀ at all, but again to make any decision now would be unfair. I also think਍ഀ that, especially, with the current economic situation, we should take a਍ഀ really hard look at which events would most likely continue with or without਍ഀ our support and really evaluate their funding. If this comes to a vote I਍ഀ would like to have Dave Chapin vote my proxy, as he desires, using this note਍ഀ as a guide if that is allowed.਍ഀ Thanks,਍ഀ Page 1 j਍ഀ Bobby Bank਍ഀ
