Event Goals:
To produce a Holiday Season Kickoff with Tree Lightings, Holidays Lightings and Children’s Parade
To enhance the New Year’s Eve torchlight parade with a “First Night” family-oriented event
To provide three separate New Year’s Eve Firework Shows
Anticipated Attendance: 25,000
Event History: Tree Lighting in Vail Village for 25+ years; Tree Lighting in Lionshead dates varied; Coordinated comprehensive calendar and First Night celebration are in their second
years

Assists business and merchant community with campaign promoting holiday shopping starting Thanksgiving weekend
Ambient entertainment enhancing guest’s visits

Ambient event for guests visiting over the holiday season.

Families, participating in children’s activities
Vail lodging options: All band members, vendors and entertainers hired to perform during the parade and street entertainment are booked into Vail lodges.

Components of Marketing Plan:
Creation of Holidays in Vail separate website for all event information and
associated calendar listings
Event Brochures/Posters
Event Brochures and posters will be delivered to all Information Booths and merchants promoting the Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve events. The Hotel Concierge group will receive e-mailed
information as well.
Newspaper Advertising
An advertising schedule will run in Vail Daily, specific to the Thanksgiving event and New Year’s Eve events.
Radio Advertising
Holidays in Vail will run an advertising schedule on local radio stations.
Town of Vail website
Holidays in Vail will link on the TOV website listing all event activities and contact information.
Plum TV/TV 8 announcements
Holidays in Vail will work with Plum TV and TV 8 on announcing Holidays in Vail activities and programming information
Sponsorship Potential of Holidays in Vail:
Partnership with Vail Resorts, Inc. and their corporate partners
The potential non-profit tie-in offers additional potential to attract local business sponsors to this event.
