Activities and Programs
Greet the Day!
Yoga, meditation, a brisk walk or run awakens senses, releases what does not serve us and
grounds us into the day. Or, you may decide that rest is what you need!
Envisioning Your Life
Find your values, strengths, purpose and create a vision statement and action plan for your
life. This interactive seminar forms the basis for each woman’s personal work moving
forward. Beginning with an exploration of what we value and what our personal strengths
are, we can then formulate our life purpose and a vision for the woman we want to be.
We start the seminar on Friday morning and end it on Sunday with specific goals and an
action plan.
Rafting/kayaking
It has been said that one never steps in the same river twice. It is true of our daily lives as
well, each one new and filled with opportunities and challenges. With the Colorado River
and Timberline Tours guiding us, we will explore the metaphor of the River as Life’s
Journey on one of the most scenic stretches of the river. As a river flows, so does our life –
ever-changing and with surprises around every bend. Overcoming fears, embracing
adventure and play, learning to balance, going with the flow, scouting life’s rapids, and
knowing when to rest are all part of this journey.
Activities and Programs
Climbing
We all run into walls in our life. How do we approach such a roadblock – by
throwing up our hands and giving up? Or searching aimlessly for a way around? This
climbing excursion, led by Adventure Travel Guides International, will address a
different approach – one that involves understanding the nature of the wall,
working out its intricacies and challenges, and then discerning a strategy for
conquering it one hand-hold and foot-hold at a time. Critical thinking, overcoming
emotion and fear, developing a strategy, and teamwork make climbing an
empowering metaphor for overcoming obstacles in our life.
Healing Through Horses
Horses represent the amazingly symbiotic partnerships we are capable of forming in
our lives. These half-ton “flight” animals are perfect mirrors and capable of
teaching humans the nature of pure Trust and Truth. Renowned Gestalt Equine
facilitator and founder of Touched by a Horse, Melisa Pearce, uses horses to help
people understand their emotions and intuition in a new way, which deepens a trust
in their own self-knowing and personal power.
Activities and Programs
Self Care and Wellness
Each of us is our own garden and what we harvest from our life depends on what we
plant, nurture, grow and weed from our personal garden. This workshop, held outdoors,
teaches the synergy between nurturing oneself and others, offering tools for quick
rejuvenation and long-term self-care and empowerment. Awareness of our emotional
state and learning to choose our responses gives us the power to understand and
embrace our emotional self. Women will explore aromatherapy and herbal therapy,
journal, learn grounding, communication, discernment and emotional stress relief skills.
Mountain/Wilderness Experience
Imagine stepping into the wilderness, walking a path through the forest. You come upon a
fork in the path, roots and rocks to step over, solitude. Finally you reach the high point in
the landscape, a knoll, a lake, a peak. You look back to see that each foot forward shaped
the journey, and delivered you closer to yourself, your dreams. With the expert guidance
of Trailwise Guides, Inc., you will spend a day exploring Vail's scenic backcountry. This hike
is designed to deepen your connection with the natural world, help you feel the pulse of
your heart, awaken your breath to freshness and vitality, enliven your soul, and to
illuminate nature's role as a resource. Discovering the benefits of a day out in nature
opens your heart to your personal path, identifies the steps needed for walking back into
the wilderness we call "home", and celebrates our new found community. All ability levels
are invited to participate in this journey.
Trailwise Guides, Inc. operates under a special use permit by the White River and San Isabel National Forest and by the Bureau
of Land Management. Trailwise Guides, Inc. is an equal opportunity provider.
