Overall February sales tax in c reased 5 % with Retail in creasing 6.4 %, Lodging in creased 3.8 %, Food
and Beverage in creased 11.5 % and Utilities/Other (which is mainly utilities but also includes taxable
services and re ntal s) de creased 10.6 %. This report does not include returns from quarterly remitters
for 2012. The Out of Town category continues to be greatly affected by construction, interior design
firms and furniture stores delivering in to Vail . Ex cluding the Out of Town category sales tax for the
month of February was up 7.5 %.

the internet at www.vailgov.com. You can subscribe to have the Vail Business Review and the sales
tax worksheet e -mailed to you automatically from www.vailgov.com .
Please remember when reading the Vail Business Review that it is produced from sales tax
collections, as opposed to actual gross sales.
