COURSE(attached):
Solaris Start/Finish
Willow Bridge to Gore Creek to Vail Valley Drive Va il Valley Drive to Sunburst to bike path to Aspen C t/Ln to Frontage Rd
Frontage Road to Vail Valley Drive to East Meadow t o Solaris
10.0 km / 6.2 miles
Similar to Tour de France Prologue Time Trials - th rough Village, cobbled streets, exciting finish, et c.
TIME:
~4-6 PM (to coincide with dinner hour / Vail Restau rant Month event)
SUPPORTING SPONSOR:
Bicycling Magazine / Rodale Publishing (Title spons or of Saturday's Vail
Challenge) - largest cycling publication in the wor ld
- providing more than $100k in in-kind advertising sponsorship for event weekend
LOGISTICS:
Similar to USPCC TT (but better for presentation pu rposes as start/finish are adjacent) Relatively nar row/barriered lane
for individual cyclists on Willow Bridge/Gore Creek /East Meadow Expo at Solaris CDOT permit for Fronta ge Rd, etc.
TOV permit for others, etc.
Resident/business notification @ min 30 days Law en forcement at stop signs, etc. Volunteers only at al l others.
Bike path closed, enforced by volunteers Perhaps a coned lane on the Frontage Rd / Vail Valley Drive (if possible)
Perhaps one-way traffic on Vail Valley Drive (west-bound, if possible)
SCHEDULE:
Thursday - Load in of barriers, finish line apparat us, etc.
Friday AM - staging of equipment, course set up Fri day, ~3:30 PM - road closures, barriers set up in V ail Village,
elsewhere where needed
4-6 PM time trial
6-7 PM - teardown & staging for Saturday/Sunday eve nts.

Hi Laurie and Dieter,
This is a question both for the CSE and the ERC per mit review committee- as I think it would entail cl osing the bike path
for the day, given the narrowness of the path. The CSE may or may not think that this option is compar able to the
"historic" route and warrant the extra funding. I will put it on the agenda for Wednesday's CSE meeti ng when we review
the responses to the Late Year allocations and issu es that have arisen since.
