Exhibit A MKT Vail 2013EXHIBIT A Compensation: $49,900 Start Date: January 1st, 2013, End Date: December 31st, 2013 Scope of work: • Develop a 1, 3 and 5-year strategic plan for the Commission on Special Events, including measurements and metrics • Collaborate with and guide CSE members to strategically approach event and funding decisions • Track marketing efforts of publicly funded events, monitor compliance with the approved marketing plans and assist event producers in achieving compliance with the Marketing Checklist – this will entail close coordination with key event producers and their affiliated partners, agencies or vendors, as well as close coordination with appropriate Town of Vail staff • Continue collaboration on the year-round Vail brand as with all of the stakeholders and deliver tangible results, with particular close coordination with VLMDAC and its brand and overall marketing activities with the goal of tightly aligning both entities efforts in such regard • Leverage research to develop strategies to grow overnight visitation - domestically and internationally • Develop consistent metrics to assist in the accurate assessment of event attendance; MKT Vail will work closely with Town of Vail staff to enable this key initiative • Continue collaboration with and guidance of CSE members to strategically approach event and funding decisions. Guiding this counsel will be a goal of aligning all such decisions with key objectives that cascade from TOV Council and VLMDAC • Oversee alignment between Commission on Special Events and Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council on objectives and strategies • Continue to develop solutions for streamlining of promoter/event recruitment processes between different entities within TOV • Attendance at all key associated meetings with CSE as well as the off line work that occurs between the Town Manager of Economic Development, VLMDAC, VLMDAC partners, CSE partners and producers and the CSE members Key Job Performance Criteria:  Manage expenses to approved budgets  Demonstrate accountability and meet deadlines  Establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders  Keep planning and execution pace with the ever-changing tourism and resort industry  Be resourceful, nimble, flexible, dedicated and results-oriented  Bring creative solutions to the table Budget not to exceed $49,900 professional fees and agreed upon direct expenses.
