HomeMy WebLinkAbout9.Survivor Slides 5-1Town of Vail 1 Vail Survivor Casting Call - with - Vail Family Adventure Challenge Survivor – Concept Overview •Back fill weekend of August 17/18 - August 17 would be Survivor Casting Call (approved by Survivor Production Management - August 17 adds local activation in and around Casting Call venue at Solaris Plaza; either ground level or terrace level - August 18 – Farmer’s Market plus Jazz Festival - can also maintain local activation subject to space/cost •Last weekend before back to school – family orientation •Overall weekend activities co-promoted by VLMDAC - DP/FR TV - web and digital build out - video - Channel 4 (and TV8) 2 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 Survivor – Concept Theme Vail Survivor Casting Call - with - Vail Family Adventure Challenge 3 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 Note: We cannot use ‘Survivor name in our activation due to liability reasons but Can tie-in laterally and thematically Survivor Casting Call - Overview •An open casting call, where viewers/consumers/participants go on camera to tell why they’d be the perfect Survivor contestant! •Series of :90 on camera interviews of pre-selected candidates - Expect ~200 candidates - Interviews last circa 7-8 hours •Recruitment: KCNC promotes it, email out to past contestants, CBS.com and Survivor web/social channels, CBSDenver.com - Vail could add recruitment aspect via Daily, TV8, Vail.com/FB or FR TV 4 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 Survivor Casting Call – Exposure Summary 1 •A Television Production Package is also included as part of the partnership to air to promote event: - 1-:30 or 1-:15 television promotion spot that talks about the event and the weekend - Additional production: 1-:30 donut-type ad, which allows VLMDAC to customize interior content to enhance any kind of branding campaign … and/or promote various other summer celebrations and events •CBS4 will endeavor to provide a news anchor or reporter as emcee talent for the Survivor Games/Casting Call event •CBS4 will endeavor to provide news coverage and have an on site presence in Vail during event weekend •CBS4 will utilize station-held social media to promote the event, including various Twitter accounts and the station’s FB page •CBS4 will supply film crew, sign up and registration fulfillment personnel on site •CBS4 will provide grand prize – ‘games’ • 5 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 Survivor Casting Call – Exposure Summary 2 •CBS4 to invite an emcee from news and will recruit the Chevy Mobile Weather Lab to be on site •Potential local news to develop story angles and will endeavor to generate as much coverage as we can locally •Potential CBS Network coverage in and around Survivor or other programming •CBS4 will provide a complimentary television and online campaign, driving viewers to register and or attend •CBS4Denver.com to get details about the Vail Challenge and Casting Call in Vail … and to Vail itself to participate, take in the event etc. Note: All coverage is potential due to Network and programming uncertainties, pre-emption risk, etc. 6 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 Survivor – Vail Family Adventure Challenge •Working with local promoter (e.g. Brian Hall) •Family Adventure Challenge on Solaris astro-turf and surrounding venue •Fun and fun-competitive but no danger or real liability - tug of wars - ropes features - maze features - net features - obstacle courses - dunk tanks - various kids zones - music and food •Back drop is on-going Survivor interviews; create ‘festival’ atmosphere so attendees can wander, compete, watch 7 Town of Vail | 5/1/13 •Propose $15,000 local activation budget for local promoter, and all logistics and materials •Work with promoter to name our local aspect, liaise with CBS •Secure venue(s) •Will need to provide weekend lodging for all CBS production personnel; all other CBS Survivor Casting Call costs borne by CBS •VLMDAC to promote registration/weekend event through print, social, online efforts •Thursday 5/2 conference call with media agency Emico, SITE Marketing, MKT Vail, CBS4 to align on all key actions, roles and responsibilities, et. al.
