The Vail Leadership Institute’s Vision Statement: To build the Vail Valley into an International community of higher learning that delivers meaning in the lives of thousands of leaders annually. Goal: 1. Utilize the Town of Vail Tier IV funding to develop, build, and secure relationships with institutions focused on providing higher learning for Vail Valley business owners, healthcare professionals, and hospitality professionals. 2. Utilize the Town of Vail Tier IV funding to incubate a long term learning strategy and elevate the “learning brand” of Vail in order to attract executives and their teams from outside the Vail Valley for a destination learning experience. Status: In the past 120 days our staff has secured a partnership with Cornell University and their eCornell on-line Certificate program. The partnership includes a significant discount for VLI members for a strong list of Ivy League Certifications including the following: o Strategic HR Management o Business Strategy o Change Leadership o Executive Leadership o Executive Leadership for the Healthcare Professional o High Performance Leadership o Leading Customer Focused Teams o Managing for Execution o Strategic Leadership for the Hospitality Professional o Supervisory Skills for the Management Professional o Plant Based Nutrition Why eCornell? The team at VLI conducted days of research based on a few criteria. VLI wanted to offer relevant Ivy League certification(s), through a world-class e-learning platform, at a reasonable cost. eCornell offered the highest value and flexibility based on all three criteria. This initial relationship will allow the Institute to secure other higher learning partners and develop similar offerings that will tap into executives, corporate teams, and alumni throughout the country. Next Steps: Finalize marketing, press releases, and online enrollment by December 1 to begin enrollment in 2015.   TOV 2014 Mid Year Update: Higher Learning Partnerships
