HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015 Vail Holidaze RecapDecember     18th  –  31st  ,                           2015   Thank  you  for  helping  us  make  Vail  Holidaze  an  amazing  event   held  through  town.      We  began  with  the  Lantern  making  at  local  schools  and   workshops,  ice  sculpture  display  at  Solaris  and  in  Slifer  Square,   skaBng  with  Vail  SkaBng  Club,  decoraBng  cookies,  the  Tree   lighBng  and  ending  with  the    fireworks  display  in  Gold  Peak.   The  fesBviBes  within  Vail  gave  the  guests  visiBng  and  locals  a   chance  to  come  to  town  to  celebrate  the  Holiday  season.     Strengths   • Vail  Holidaze  had  a  huge  show  of  support  with  the   Paper  Lantern  workshops  and  the  interest  from  area   schools.     • The  Ice  sculptures  were  a  draw  for  pictures  and   brought  people  into  Solaris  to  see.     • Pictures  with  Santa  were  a  huge  hit  and  cookie   decoraBng  brought  people  into  the  plazas  in  both   Lionshead  and  Vail.  We  used  1300  cookies.     • The  Tree  lighBng  had  a  huge  crowd,  esBmated  to   be  1500  at  the  peak  Bme.     • We  were  put  in  same  guard  as  the  top  New  York   Firework  promoters  this  year  by  a  “celebrity”  in   town.     Weaknesses   • Sound  needs  to  be  even  louder  than  was  for  event.   • One  performer  for  enBre  event  or  two  with  one   starBng  as  guests  arrive.     • Revamp  the  script  for  2016.     • The  lantern  workshops  were  huge  successes  and   now  we  will  be  working  on  more  ways  to  get  them   to  the  Lantern  Walk  in  2016.   • Needs  to  be  warmer  for  the  fireworks!       Income CSE $36,000.00 Community $800.00 Fireworks $18,000.00 Total Income $54,800.00 Expense Event Costs Ads/Web/Design/Social Media $6,650.00 Admin Staff/taxes $11,000.00 photographers $450.00 Insurance $1,248.00 Fireworks $18,000.00 Ice Skating $350.00 Arrabelle $120.00 Swag $545.00 sculptures $1,750.00 cookies $985.00 Stage/linens $1,492.56 Entertainment $1,100.00 Childcare $300.00 Plastic bags $55.00 Santa $400.00 ice $1,600.00 Suit/misc $1,340.00 Candy Canes $140.00 Sound system $1,000.00 Photographers $300.00 Labor/setup $1,400.00 Labor/Ice sculptures $225.00 Town of Vail Permits $366.80 Total Expenses $50,817.36 Total Income $3,982.64 • A:endance  Numbers:  1500  based  on  space,  size  and  aWendance  from   previous  years.     • Lodging:  We  spoke  with  all  the  lodges  prior  to  event.  The  lodges  were  at   80-­‐100%  capacity  the  Vail  Holidaze  week.     • We  esBmate  that  we  brought  in  1000  people  to  Vail  on  Saturday  for  the  Vail   Noel  Night.  The  guests  came  and  explored  town  and  stayed  in  Vail.       • Ren  Event  ProducBons  feel  we  kept  people  in  Vail  entertained  during  the   Holiday  season  and  have  room  for  growth,  based  on  need  for  events  in  Vail   for  the  holiday  season.     • MarkeBng  for  Holidaze:     – We  worked  with  all  concierges  in  town  and  had  word  out  for  all  hotel  guests  of  what  was   occurring  in  town.     – We  had  6  ads  in  Vail  Daily  throughout  the  Holiday  Season   – We  had  ads  on  KZYR,  104.7  and  Frisco  Radio   – Social  Media  Grew  by  100%  this  year   The  event  was  100%  compostable.     We  included  the  Vail  community  and  we  were  invested  in  having  them  a  part  of  the  event.
