Event
Description:
The
launch
of
the
Vail
Centre
in
April
was
strategically
decided
with
Governor
Hickenlooper’s
office
in
order
to
become
the
host
organization
for
the
Vail
Forum
–
Mexico.
The
other
components
of
the
Centre
are
in
development,
and
will
take
3-‐5
years
to
fully
launch.
The
Centre
will
aggregate
the
intellectual
offerings
of
multiple
international
events,
a
variety
of
University
Courses,
TedxVailCentre
Salons,
affiliated
higher
learning
conferences,
and
search
for
a
physical
space
in
which
to
host
programming
and
corporate
training.
The
current
request
for
funding
will
help
support
the
official
“public”
launch
of
the
Vail
Centre,
and
all
of
its
components
at
the
annual
Torch
Awards
on
December
11,
2015
in
Vail.
This
event
was
highly
attended
by
top
leaders
in
Vail
in
2014
(250
guests)
to
honor
Rod
Slifer.
The
event
for
2015
will
be
a
key
event
to
cultivate
public/private
relationships
to
gain
the
necessary
support
for
higher
learning,
and
the
engagement
funding
partners
of
the
Vail
Centre.
During
the
initial
roll
out
phase,
having
resources
to
properly
communicate
the
programming
of
the
Vail
Centre
is
key
to
building
this
community
asset.
Specifically,
the
funds
will
be
utilized
for
helping
tell
the
“story”
of
the
Vail
Centre
through
marketing
tactics.
The
$6,000
will
not
just
be
“spent”
for
a
“one-‐off”
event,
but
rather
the
funds
will
serve
as
part
of
the
foundation
of
the
Vail
Centre’s
messaging
and
marketing
program
that
will
be
key
to
further
developing
corporate
partners,
educational
alliances,
and
private
donor
support.
The
Torch
Awards
will
also
serve
as
the
public
enrollment
launch
for
the
2016
Vail
Mexico
Forum,
with
key
Mexican
Leaders
in
Vail
and
the
State
attending
to
speak
about
the
upcoming
Forum
and
partnership
with
Vail.
