Strategy for Recruiting Events & Producers for 2016 RFP Process
Goal: To recruit new producers and/or new events to submit RFP’s for 2016 event
funding to diversify and create competition within the event calendar. Expand outreach
and broadcast of RFP opportunity via multimedia channels. Tactics include Identifying
and contacting specific publications targeted at event producers.
Event related digital media
• Linkedin – search out groups that focus on events or producers
• Facebook
• Producer/Event Manager Sites/Magazines
• Millennial Marketing sites
• Twitter - vailgov
Review competitive resorts/events
• Review competitive resorts calendar
• Research other metro areas
• Review event listing calendars
• Investigate popular events – with different target demographics
Press release
• Currently Scheduled for September 4 – will go up on vailgov.com and
vail.com August 14 if RFP is posted by then
• PRweb – Kristin Yantis or Laura get own account
• Email to press/media newsletter list
• Vail.com press room – confirmation needed
