Town of Vail | CSE Vail Jazz Festival Recap | 12/7/16 Attendance Estimate (Vail Jazz Party only) 6 How would you impact attendance next year? •NOTE: This attendance estimate reflects only the 5-day Vail Jazz Party over Labor Day weekend. The attendance estimate for the entire 10-week Vail Jazz Festival was approximately 17,000. How would you impact attendance next year? •Increased digital marketing efforts for target segments. Increased community engagement efforts to raise awareness and create advocates among Eagle County residents. •A short series of down-valley events are being used to drive local traffic to Vail Jazz’s larger performances in Vail. This has been an effective tool thus far with the growth of Riverwalk First Fridays. Why or why not? Please explain. •The dashboard to the left reflects the visitor type for the Vail Jazz Party. We did expect this type of visitor for this event, which has developed a nationwide reputation as a destination jazz event. Our survey dashboard to the right reflects the rest of the Vail Jazz Festival visitor types, which indicates that we have a more even spread throughout the summer with our varied series. What steps would you take to optimize visitor mix? •We will continue to ensure that our distinct performance series offer wide ranging artistic diversity, accessible price points, venue variation, and overall unique guest experiences Town of Vail | CSE Vail Jazz Festival Recap | 12/7/16 Overall Visitor Profile 9 Who was your anticipated target demographic? •This dashboard reflects the overall visitor profile of the Vail Jazz Party attendee, which is a very specific type of jazz fan and trends much older than the rest of the summer-long Festival attendees. Vail Jazz has identified the 35-55 age group as a target demographic to grow, knowing that it will be a long-term goal. Did you reach your target demographic? Why or why not? •Our website analytics indicate that we have grown our target demographic by 138% from last year (Google Analytics). This number will likely not increase drastically from year to year for the Vail Jazz Party, because of this demographics' limited digital interaction. What would you change to reach that audience next year? •The Vail Jazz Party will likely remain our oldest group of attendees, but we continue to activate our target demographic in this event series and throughout the Festival with powerful social media campaigns, strategic partnerships, cross-marketing with other organizations, and targeted digital marketing campaigns. Town of Vail | CSE Vail Jazz Festival Recap | 12/7/16 Overnight Visitor Profile 10 What measures did you take to incentivize attendees to book lodging in the Town of Vail? •We offered attendees special lodging deals with select lodging partners in the Town of Vail, including Vail Marriott (the headquarters hotel for the Vail Jazz Party), Antlers at Vail, Lion Square Lodge and Destination Resorts Vail. These deals were heavily promoted on our website and through our digital and print campaigns. •Within Town of Vail lodging properties, we promoted Vail Jazz events heavily through concierges and in hotel guest newsletters Town of Vail | CSE Vail Jazz Festival Recap | 12/7/16 Role/Importance of Event in Intent to Visit Vail 11 What actions did you take this year to generate the number of overnight guests? •We offered guests a variety of competitive lodging and transportation discounts through our sponsors, including Vail Marriott, Antlers at Vail, Lion Square Lodge, Destination Resorts Vail, Hertz and CME . Also, new marketing dollars were spent in the Front Range to attract regional destination attendees. How would you increase the number of overnight Vail guests coming for the event next year? •Continue to promote new and existing relationships with lodging and transportation partners, and made strategic ad buys in the Front Range for shows that will have the largest destination draw. Town of Vail | CSE Vail Jazz Festival Recap | 12/7/16 NPS (Net Promoter Score)/Likelihood to Recommend 12 Do you think the NPS scores reflect the attendee event experience? •Yes, the high NPS reflects the overall increased quality of performances and positive attendee experience. This is also a reflection of the loyalty that Vail Jazz has developed with its patrons over the past 22 years. What steps would you take to improve the NPS scores for your event next year? •Maintain spectacular performance quality and superb listening experience, explore ways to make venues special and unique, and continue to book concerts with great artistic diversity and star appeal.
