TOWN OF VAIL
REVENUE UPDATE
April 4, 2017
Sales Tax
Upon receipt of all sales tax returns, February collections are estimated to be
$3,630,554 down 3.1% from last year and down 3.3% compared to budget. Year
to date collections of $7,255,084 are down 3.1% from prior year and down 3.9%
from budget. Inflation as measured by the consumer price index was up 2.7% for
February. The annual budget totals $26.1 million.
Real Estate Transfer Tax (RETT)
RETT collections through March 29 total $1,439,428 up 19.2% from this time last
year. The annual 2017 RETT budget totals $5.85 million.
Construction Use Tax
Use Tax collections through March 29 total $121,767 compared to $439,951 from
this time last year. The annual budget totals $1,545,000.
Parking Revenue
Season to date:
Pass sales from November through March 29 total $955,705 down 3.0% from
prior winter season.
Daily sales from the parking structures from November through March 19 total
approximately $3,146,303 down 6.3% from the prior winter season. A large part
of the decrease is due to the one week delay in Vail Mountain opening day.
