•A format change from the original
February event will create a more
productive full day of activity that will
engage many more citizens and visitors.
•With no need for a physical venue via the
use of the Heart Rod Bus, we will increase
our collective reach while lowering the
total budget for the event.
•This event will have a positive long-term
impact on the community with many
more people trained in lifesaving
CPR/DEFIB skills and increased awareness
of the large number (15) of defibrillators
in the Town of Vail.

•The event is most synergistic with the
Vail brand health and wellness aspects.
•With the bus in the center of town at the
International Bridge, the event will be
very visible with visitors, merchants, and
Town of Vail employees and create a
higher level of engagement and
activation.
•The bulk of the budget will go to an
aggressive marketing campaign to
promote the Town’s partnership with
Starting Hearts in our commitment to
care for our citizens and many visitors
throughout the year.

•Event Sponsors: Town of Vail, Vail Daily and Vail Valley Medical Center
•Invitations: To all TOV employees to participate on priority basis
•Print: Vail Daily and Daily Weekly campaign
•Radio: KYZR and the Mile: Interviews and rebroadcasts
•TV: TV8: Interviews and rebroadcasts
•Merchants: Posters throughout TOV and invitations to participate
•Social Media: Robust social media campaign on Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram, Facebook Live broadcasts from the bus
•Email: Email blast to multiple databases in our area
•Volunteers: Visits and invitations to TOV merchants
