Strengths
• Vail Holidays had a huge show of support from the guests
of Vail. We began with the Vail Holiday Sweater Run, The
Holiday Dog Walk and the Kris Kringle Market. The tree
lighting occurred just as guests were arriving in town.
• Art in Public Places had a lot of participation for the
Lantern Walk and it gave guests activities to participate in
around Vail.
• The Vail Library had events leading up to and after the
holiday season.
• Ren Events feels that we had a growing draw for the
Holiday Sweater Run, the Holiday Dog Walk the Kris
Kringle Market, the tree lighting, and the fireworks. The
lantern walk has given another community guest
experience.

Town of Vail CSE
Strengths
• The Vail/Eagle Children’s Chorale sang and brought many local visitors into town. Battle
Mountain High School Jazz Choir added to the festive night. The Turntable Revue kept
the music rolling.
• Cookie decorating brought people into the plazas Vail. We decorated over 1200 cookies.
• The Tree Lighting had a huge crowd, estimated to be 1000 at the peak time.
• The Fireworks and torchlight ski down were a truly amazing wrap to 2018 for the Town
of Vail and Vail Resorts.

Weaknesses/Changes for 2018
• Working with the town and utilizing their expertise has
been effective. We created a Vail holidays website that had
all events online. www.vailholidays.com
• We used Google share to ensure we had most updated
information
• We found, we used the Town of Vail ads. The ads were
beautiful. We would ask to have a few different calendar
ads that are done the first weekend after Thanksgiving with
approval done.
• The Kris Kringle Market worked well and had a smooth
flow for two days. It was a draw for guests and locals.
• We are encouraged for Art In Public places, as they seem
to have the entire lantern walk in control.

• Attendance Numbers : 1,500 based on space, size and attendance from previous years.
• Lodging: We spoke with all the lodges prior to event. This year the lodges were at 40-80% capacity during the Vail Holidays week.
• We estimate that we brought in 1,200-2,000 people to Vail on Saturday and Sunday for the Kris Kringle Market. The guests came, explored the
town and stayed in Vail. This year, due to the the parking structures being full, the guests had a harder time getting to market.
• Ren Event Productions kept people in Vail entertained during the Holiday season. There is room for growth, based on need for events in
Vail leading up to the holiday season. The Kris Kringle market is unique, as is the Holiday Sweater Run & The Holiday Dog Walk. We feel as long
as done on a needed weekend, it will not impede the holiday season for stores.
• Marketing for Holidays:
– We worked with all concierges in town to inform them of all town events. We created
postcards, a one page info sheet and ensured they had the Lantern Parade Flyer.
– We had 2-3 weekly ads in Vail Daily and Weekly throughout the Holiday Season.
– Social Media Grew by 100% this year.
– Vail Holidays Press Release went out to local, state and national outlets beginning in October.
– Vail.com, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook were great promoters for this year. We will
continue to grow this presence.
The event was 100% compostable.
We included the Vail community and we were invested in having them as a part of the event.
