We began with the Vail Holiday Sweater Run, The Holiday Dog Walk and the Kris Kringle Market. The tree lighting occurred just as guests were arriving in town. • Art in Public Places had a lot of participation for the Lantern Walk and it gave guests activities to participate in around Vail. • The Vail Library had events leading up to and after the holiday season. • Ren Events feels that we had a growing draw for the Holiday Sweater Run, the Holiday Dog Walk the Kris Kringle Market, the tree lighting, and the fireworks. The lantern walk has given another community guest experience. 12/28/18 8 Town of Vail CSE Strengths • The Vail/Eagle Children’s Chorale sang and brought many local visitors into town. Battle Mountain High School Jazz Choir added to the festive night. The Turntable Revue kept the music rolling. • Cookie decorating brought people into the plazas Vail. We decorated over 1200 cookies. • The Tree Lighting had a huge crowd, estimated to be 1000 at the peak time. • The Fireworks and torchlight ski down were a truly amazing wrap to 2018 for the Town of Vail and Vail Resorts. 1/10/18 9 Town of Vail CSE Weaknesses/Changes for 2018 • Working with the town and utilizing their expertise has been effective. We created a Vail holidays website that had all events online. www.vailholidays.com • We used Google share to ensure we had most updated information • We found, we used the Town of Vail ads. The ads were beautiful. We would ask to have a few different calendar ads that are done the first weekend after Thanksgiving with approval done. • The Kris Kringle Market worked well and had a smooth flow for two days. It was a draw for guests and locals. • We are encouraged for Art In Public places, as they seem to have the entire lantern walk in control. 12/28/18 10 Town of Vail CSE • Attendance Numbers : 1,500 based on space, size and attendance from previous years. • Lodging: We spoke with all the lodges prior to event. This year the lodges were at 40-80% capacity during the Vail Holidays week. • We estimate that we brought in 1,200-2,000 people to Vail on Saturday and Sunday for the Kris Kringle Market. The guests came, explored the town and stayed in Vail. This year, due to the the parking structures being full, the guests had a harder time getting to market. • Ren Event Productions kept people in Vail entertained during the Holiday season. There is room for growth, based on need for events in Vail leading up to the holiday season. The Kris Kringle market is unique, as is the Holiday Sweater Run & The Holiday Dog Walk. We feel as long as done on a needed weekend, it will not impede the holiday season for stores. • Marketing for Holidays: – We worked with all concierges in town to inform them of all town events. We created postcards, a one page info sheet and ensured they had the Lantern Parade Flyer. – We had 2-3 weekly ads in Vail Daily and Weekly throughout the Holiday Season. – Social Media Grew by 100% this year. – Vail Holidays Press Release went out to local, state and national outlets beginning in October. – Vail.com, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook were great promoters for this year. We will continue to grow this presence. The event was 100% compostable. We included the Vail community and we were invested in having them as a part of the event. 12/28/18 11 Town of Vail CSE 12/28/18 12 Town of Vail CSE Income CSE $26,000.00 Vendors $5,100.00 Total Income $31,100.00 Expenses Event Costs Advertising- Newspaper $3,500.00 FB Ads $1,200.00 PR $1,800.00 Radio $400.00 Admin staff/Contract Labor $6,500.00 Photographers- Bingham $1,200.00 Fireworks Insurance $1,263.00 Cookies/Frosting/Sprinkles $990.00 Stage Linens $1,350.00 Heaters $1,100.00 Garland $1,250.00 Entertainment $625.00 Santa $900.00 Sound System $1,200.00 Decorations/Lights $1,950.00 Candy Canes $136.00 Security $1,450.00 Town of Sales TAx for vendors $1,875.00 Printing- Posters, 24x posters $1,400.00 Postcards $800.00 Total Expenses $30,889.00 Net Income $111.00 In Kind Actual 2018- as of 12/28/18 12/28/18 13 Town of Vail CSE Town of Vail Barricades/Zero Hero Tents Alpine Bank- Antlers Vail Resorts- Implementaion fo Fireworks/Ski Down Ren Events- Time implementing Event Ads from the Vail Holidays event 12/28/18 14 Town of Vail CSE Ads from the Vail Holidays event 12/28/18 15 Town of Vail CSE Top Line Marketing Efforts 12/28/18 16 Town of Vail CSE ThinkBig Media PR report for Vail Holidays: https://coveragebook.com/b/8dc593a3 Top Line Marketing Efforts 12/28/18 17 Town of Vail CSE ThinkBig Media PR report for Vail Holidays: https://coveragebook.com/b/8dc593a3 Ads from the Vail Holidays event 12/28/18 18 Town of Vail CSE For more information, visit vailholidays.com DEC 12 5:30 - 6:30pm Holiday Harp Music FREE with Margot Krimmel Vail Public Library DEC 13 5 - 7:30pm Family Fireside Holiday Party FREE Vail Public Library DEC 13 - 16 Snow Days vail.com FREE DEC 14 11am - 12:30pm Santa & the Babies FREE Vail Public Library DEC 14 5 - 5:15pm Ice Skating Exhibition of Champions FREE Solaris Ice Rink DEC 14 6:30 - 6:45pm Ice Skating Exhibition of Champions FREE Arrabelle, Lionshead DEC 14 - 16 Daily 2018 Vail Skating Festival $ Town-wide | vailskatefest.com DEC 15 8:30am Vail Holiday Sweater Run $20 - $25 Willow Bridge Road DEC 15 - 16 11am - 3:30pm Kris Kringle Market FREE Meadow Drive/Willow Bridge Road Vail Village DEC 15 6:30 - 8pm Ice Spectacular $20 starring 3-time Olympic medalist Patrick Chan Dobson Arena DEC 15 - 16 Daily Skating Clinic/Seminar $ Dobson Arena DEC 16 3:45 - 4:45pm Holiday Dog Walk FREE Starts and ends at Slifer Square DEC 16 5pm Vail Village Tree Lighting Ceremony FREE Slifer Square DEC 18 - 20 4 - 6pm Traditional Piñata Workshop FREE Vail Public Library DEC 18 5 - 7pm AWE Chamber Music FREE Vail Public Library DEC 19 6 - 7pm Dickens Carolers FREE Vail Public Library DEC 20 6 - 7:30pm Mountain Harmony Acapella FREE Vail Public Library DEC 21 4:30 - 6:30pm Lantern Painting $10 with Alpine Arts Center VRD Community Programming 2nd Level Lionshead parking structure DEC 23 1 - 4pm Lantern Making Workshop FREE with Alpine Arts Center Vail Public Library DEC 23 4:30 - 5:45pm Lantern Walk FREE Slifer Square to Gore Creek Promenade Live Music walk begins at 5:30pm, ends at 5:45pm DEC 23 5:45pm 12th Annual FREE Vail Winterfest Ice Theater Grand Opening Celebration Gore Creek Promenade, Vail Village DEC 31 6:15pm Ski Down Torchlight Parade FREE & Fireworks Down Vail Mountain & Gold Peak The winter holidays are a magical time of year in Vail, with complimentary programs and activities for all ages!
