Approval of minutes from April 3 meeting. 2. No citizen input. 3. Ben Roth Environmental Installation Molly shows the board the location for the installation which is between the hospital and library. The bike path is adjacent, as is the bus lane on East Meadow Drive. It is a very visible location with a nice grove of trees. It is also accessible as far as staging for Ben to work on site. It is a fairly flat site. The artist is happy with the site as is staff. We will have cattle guards on the perimeter, so people can observe what he is creating. Kara comments that the site is very visible and highly trafficked with the hospital, Dobson, and the library. Molly shows images of his design concepts which is a work in progress and may alter once he gets on site. The installation will begin June 19 and continue through the 23rd. We have earmarked 5 dead spruce for the project. There are two in Ford Park and three trees at the post office with did not survive. The board is pleased with the location. 4. Patrick Dougherty Molly discusses the packet of information sent to her by the artist’s studio which she has passed along to the board. He will visit August 21, 22, 23 for a site visit to Ford Park and to look at sites for harvesting the willows. If time allows, Molly will look at having a meet and greet on the 21st. Molly asks the board to review the documents regarding logistics for harvesting willows and scope of the project. She asks the board to brainstorm on possible locations, properties, and reaching out to ranches. Harvest would take place in June 2018 as it is best to have the willows supple. Kara has contacted a friend with a ranch who clear in the spring. They don’t have many willows, but the ranch owner is going to reach out to other ranches on 131. She asks about the safety clearing of the willows along the bike path. Molly explains that is a very limited quantity. Kara offers to spearhead the volunteers for the project. Molly sent the PBS link also to the Town Council. Molly mentions she discussed potential volunteers for the environmental installation with Kim Langmaid of Walking Mountains. We will communicate further as we get closer to the date. Molly believes she will be able to work with the TOV for truck fleet, but if not we can hire a truck. Molly is working on a hospitality partner. Kara suggests the amphitheater for a meet and greet. Molly will reach out to the stakeholders in the coming months about the project which includes: Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Vail Rec, VVF, Vail Nature/Walking Mountains. Town of Vail Page 2 5. Summer programming updates  Molly asks the board if they are interested in inviting Davey Gravey’s Tiny Cinema return this summer. The board would like to invite him back in July for a Saturday/Sunday showing. She will ask about dates around the 4th of July, but there may already be too much programming.  Alpine Art Classes at the Amphitheater - First & Third Thursday of each month @ 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the amphitheater – June 1st through September 21st. The winter classes have been full, so we are anticipating good participation this summer.  Art Walks – Wednesdays, weekly June 21 through Aug 30 @ 11:00  Storm Sewer update – Molly shows images of the works created by the selected artists. The board is very pleased with the quality of the works submitted for the project. 6. Summer advertising budget  Bus Ad – Molly shows the design for the bus ad.  Bravo Ad – ¼ page ad at $904  ART – Full page - $1850 – the board decides to pass on Vail Lifestyle due to budget. Trish believes advertising AIPP is worthwhile because it enriches the experience. She comments we should keep what Vail offers in the forefront. 7. It has deteriorated greatly, so the board decides it can be disposed.  I70 update and photos – Molly shared the artist’s press release.
