AN OR INANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-1-3 OF THE VAIL TOWN CODE TO ADD
AN A ENDMENT TO THE 2015 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE
PREVI USLY ADOPTED BY THE TOWN BY REFERENCE
WHEREAS, the Town previously adopted the 2015 edition of the International
Residential Code by reference, with amendments; and
WHEREAS, the Town's Building and Fire Code Appeals Board has
recommended that the Town adopt an additional amendment to the 2015 edition of the
Internat onal Residential Code.
IOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO, THAT:
ection 1. Section 10-1-3 of the Vail Town Code is hereby amended by the
addition of the following amendment to the International Residential Code, 2015 edition,
to be in erted in numerical order:
10-1-3: AMENDMENTS TO RESIDENTIAL CODE:
Section R302.1 — Exterior Walls: Section R302.1 is amended by the
addition of the following:
"Exception: 6. Walls, projections, openings or penetrations of two-
family dwelling units with a lot line separating the units along the
shared wall."
ection 2. If any part, section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinan a is for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the r maining portions of this ordinance; and the Town Council hereby declares it
would h ve passed this ordinance, and each part, section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phr se thereof, regardless of the fact that any one or more parts, sections,
subsect ons, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid.
ection 3. The amendment of any provision of the Vail Town Code in this
ordinan�e shall not affect any right which has accrued, any duty imposed, any violation
that oc urred prior to the effective date hereof, any prosecution commenced, nor any
other action or proceeding as commenced under or by virtue of the provision amended.
The amendment of any provision hereby shall not revive any provision or ordinance
previously repealed or superseded unless expressly stated herein.
Section 4. All bylaws, orders, resolutions and ordinances, or parts thereof,
inconsistent herewith are repealed to the extent only of such inconsistency. This

repealer shall not be construed to revise any bylaw, order, resolution or ordinance, or
part thei-eof, theretofore repealed.
