AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
BY THE ADDITION OF PROVISIONS ESTABLISHING
THE PARKING ZONING DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Article 1, Section 1.201, of the Zoning
Ordinance, Ordinance No. 8, Series of 3.973, of the Town of
Vail, Colorado, as amended, established thirteen zoning
districts for the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Vail,
Colorado, considers that it is appropriate to amend the Zoning
Ordinance by establishing an additional zoning district to be
known as the Parking District (P};
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY THE TOCnTN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF VATL, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Title
~ This ordinance shall be known as the "Ordinance Amend-

ing Zoning Ordinance By Establishing Parking District".
Section 2. Amendment Procedures Fulfilled; Planning
Commission Report.
The amendment procedures prescribed in Section 21.500
of the Zoning Ordinance have been fulfilled, with the report of
the Planning Commission recommending the enactment of this
ordinance.
Section 3. Amendments to Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 8, Series of 1973,
of the Town of Vail, Colorado, as amended, is hereby amended as
hereinafter provided:
A. Section 1.201 is amended to read as follows:
1.203.. Zoning Districts Established.
The following zoning districts are hereby established:
(1) Single Family Residential District {SFR}.

(2) Two Family Residential District (R).
(3} Residential Cluster District (RC).
(4} Low Density Multiple Family District (LDMF).
s (5} Medium Density Multiple Family District (MDMF).

(6} High Density Multiple~~F'amily District (HDMF).
(7) Public Accommodations District {PA}.
{8) Commercial Core 1 District (CCl}.
(9) Commercial Core 2 District (CC2).
(10) Commercial Service Center District {CSC).
(11) Heavy Services District (HS).
(12} Agricultural and Open Space District {A).
(13) Parking District (P).
(14) Special Development District (SD).
B. Article 24 is added as follows:
Article 24. Parking District.
Section 24.100. Purposes.
The Parking District is intended to provide sites for
private or public unstructured off-street vehicle parking and
conditionally to provide for private or public off-street
vehicle parking structures and private or public parks and
recreational facilities. The Parking District is intended to
provide such facilities while ensuring adequate light, air,
privacy, and open space for each valid use in adjacent areas.
Section 24.200. Permitted Uses.
The following uses shall be permitted:
Private or public unstructured off-street vehicle
parking.
Section 24.300. Conditional Uses.
The following conditional uses shall be permitted,
subject to issuance of a Conditional Use Permit in accord with
the provisions of Article 18 of this ordinance:
(1) Private or public off--street vehicle
parking structures.

Section 24.00. Accessory Uses.
No accessory uses shall be permi,ted.

'` Section 4. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect five days after
publication following the final. passage hereof.
INTRODUCED, READ ON FIRST READING, APPROVED, AND
ORDERED PUBLISHED ONCE TN FULL, this 20th day of January, 1976,
and a public hearing on this ordinance shall be held at the
regular ~neeting~of the Town Council of the Town of Vail,
Colorado, on the 3rd day of February, 1976, at 7:30 P.M., in
the Municipal Building of the Town.
