ORDINANCE N0. 3-76
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A PERSONNEL MERIT
SYSTEM AND SALARY SCHEDL7LE FOR EMPLOYEES
OF THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6.3 of the Charter of
the Town of Vail, Colorado, the Town Manager shall be respon-
Bible for municipal personnel administration, including job
classifications;
WHEREAS, the Town Manager has reviewed and adopted
the Personnel Merit System contained herein to provide for just
and equitable incentives and conditions far employment with due
regard for ranges of pay for comparable work in other public
employment, cost of living factors, individual merit, and
others; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager feels that the adopted
personnel merit system should be made a permanent system of
evaluation. for employees of the Town of Vail,~Colorado;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL

OF THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Title.
This ordinance shall be known as the "Ordinance
Adopting Personnel Merit System".

Section 2. Adoption of Personnel Merit System.
The Town Council hereby adopts the following system
of job classifications and merit pay grades f'or employees of
the Town of Vail, Colorado:

Section 3. Administration.
The Town Manager shall, at his discretion, period-
ically evaluate municipal employees, excluding the Town Manager
and the Town Attorney, for merit salary increases. A11 munici-
pal employees shall be evaluated at least once annually.
Section 4. Salary Schedule.
The Town Council hereby adopts the following monthly
salary schedule, based on the Personnel Merit System, for the
year 1976 far employees of the Town of Vail:

Section 5, Salary Schedule Review.
The Town Manager shall review the salary schedule
incarparated with the Personnel Merit System an an annual basis
with regard to ranges of pay for comparable work in other public
employment and cost of laving factors.
Section 6. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect five days after pub-
lication following the final passage hereof.
TNTRODUCED, READ ON FIRST READING, APPROVED, AND
ORDERED PUBLTSHED ONCE IN FULL, this 3rd day of February, 197&,
and a public hearing on this ordinance sha11 be held at the
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Vail, Co1a-
rado, on, the 17th day of February, 1976, at 7:30 P,M., in the
Municipal Building of the Town,
