Series of 1977 AN ORDINANCE MAIiTNG A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION FROM THE RECREATIONAL AP~IENITIES FUND OF THE 1977 BUDGET AND FINANCIAL PLAN FOR THE TOWi`d OF VAIL, COLORADO, AND AUT~30RIZTNG THE EXPENDITURE OF SAID APPROPRIATION AS SET FORTH HEREIN WHEREAS, contingencies have arisen during the fiscal year 1977 which could not have been reasonably foreseen or anticipated by the Town Council at the time it enacted Ordi- nance No. 35, Series of 1976, adopting the 1977 Budget and Financial Plan for the Town of Vail, Colorado; WHEREAS, the Town has received certain revenues not budgeted for previously; WHEREAS, the Town previously adopted a Budget which has not taken into consideration the increased Recreation Fee revenues received by the municipality this fiscal year, nor has said Budget taken into consideration the increased expendi- tunes required to purchase land to serve as a parking lot for the Vail Municipal Golf Course; WHEREAS, the Town ;tanager has certified to the Town Council that sufficient funds are available to discharge the appropriation referxed to herein, not otherwise reflected in the Budget, in accordance with Section 9.10(a) of the Charter of the Town of Vail; WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that it is in the interest of the Town to fund the above mentioned purchase; and WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the foregoing, the Town Council finds that it should make a supplemental appro-- priatian from the Recreational Amenities Fund; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TO~~IN COUNCIL OF THE TOGVN OF VAIL , COLORADO , TEiAT {1) Pursuant to Section 9.10{a) of the Charter of the Town of Vail, Colorado, the Town Council hereby makes a .k'~ •, ,.., ~,_' ORD. Page 2 supplemental appropriation in the sum of $67,420.00 from the Recreational Amenities Fund of the 1977 Budget and Financial Plan for the Town of Vail, Colorado, and authorizes the expend- iture of said appropriation for the purchase of one acre of the former Sunburst property from First of Denver P~ortgage Investors for use as a parking lot for the Vail Municipal Golf Course. (2) The Town Council hereby authorizes and ratifies the execution by the Mayor and the Town Manager of any contracts or other necessary instruments to carry out the purchase for which funds are appropriated herein. (3) Upon its enactment this ordinance shall be an amendment to the 1977 Annual Appropriation Ordinance, Ordinance No. 35, Series of 1976, of the Town of Vail, Colorado. Accordingly, Y recommend that the Town Council promptly enact a supplemental appropriation ordinance for this~purT pose.
