AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND REENACTING CHAPTER 2.1.6
OF THE ~IUNIGIPAL CODE OF THE TOWN OF VAIL TO PROVIDE
FOR THE SETTING FORTH OF ALL THE CURRENTLY EXISTING
ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS OF THE TOWN OF VAIL: AND
IN ADDITION, PROVIDING FOR THE MERGER AND CONSOLIDATION
OF THE TOWN OF VAIL FINANCE DEPARTMENT AND PERSONNEL
DEPARTMENT INTO THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Town Council for the benefit of a more
ei~ i i c i ~~; :; 's'own admi ni stration to merge the Town Finance Department and the
Town Personnel Department into the Town Administrative Services Department,
and
WHEREAS, the Town Council wishes to set forth by ordinance all the
administrative departments of the Town of Vail, and
WFlFREAS, the Town Charter of the Town of Vail gives the Town Council
the power to consolidate or merge any department by ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
VAIL, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 2.16 Finance Department - Finance Director is
hereby repealed and reenacted with amendments to read as follows:
Chapter 2.16 Administrative Departments of the Town of Vail.
Section 2.16.010. Personnel Department and Finance Department merged.
The Town of Vail's Department of Finance and Department of Personnel
are hereby consolidated and merged into the Town of Vail Administrative
Services Department effective June 1, 1985.
Section 2.16.020. As of June 1, 1935, the Administrative Departments
of the Town of Vail shall be as follows:

b. Public Works/Transportation
c. Administrative Services
d. Fire
e. Library
f. Police
g. Recreation
Section 2.16.030. Director's Duties. Each department shall be under
the direction of a Director whose functions and duties shall be in
accordance with the provisions of the Statutes of the State of
t ~ •
Colorado, the To'r~n Charter, the ordinances of the Town of Vail, and the procedures
established by the Tawn Manager.
Section 2. If any part, section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase
of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not
affect th~~ ~,r=lidity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance; and the Town
Council hereby declares it would have passed this Ordinance, and each part,
section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase thereof, regardless of the ~E~~
that any one or more parts, sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases
be declared invalid.
Section 3. The Town Council hereby finds, determines and declares that
this Ordinance i s necessary and proper for the health, safety and we i .} a~~~. v F th=;
Town of Vail and the inhabitants thereof.
Section 4. The repeal or the repeal and reenactment of any provision of the
Vail Municipal Cade as provided in this Ordinance shall not affect any right
which has accrued, any duty imposed, any violation that occurred prior to the
effective date hereof, any prosecution commenced, nor any other action or pro
ceedings as commenced under or by virtue of the provision repealed or repealed
and reenacted. The repeal of any provision hereby shall nqt revive any provision
or any ordinance previously repealed or superseded unless expressly stated herein.
INTRODUCED, READ AND APPROUED ON FIRST READING THIS 16th day of

Council Chambers of the Vail Municipal Building, Vail, Colorado.
