PRReport.April.2019 May 10, 2019 TO: Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council FROM: Kristin Yantis & Amanda McNally, MYPR CC: Mia Vlaar, Town of Vail RE: April Public Relations Report In April, MYPR’s focus was pitching early summer media coverage, organizing a media dinner in Denver and continuing to book summer media visits along including booking travel and developing itineraries. MYPR also continued to confirm influencer visits for the summer. Following are examples of agency activities to support Vail.
• Worked with Sylvia Riviera on the media plan and summer press trip. Coordinated travel plans and the group’s schedule with both Sylvia and Jennifer Viditz Ward.
• Assisted Sylvia with any last minute needs for the Mexico City Media Mission.
• Scheduled an intimate media dinner in Denver for Wednesday, June 5 with 10 journalists to promote what’s happening this summer in Vail.
• Continued to secure media participation in the June and September press trips along with individual visits throughout the summer.
• Confirmed the dates and details for Peter Greenberg’s visit and tapping of his radio show.
• Queried partners in the community for additional “what’s new” information for ongoing pitches.
• Secured all of the family influencers for summer and their travel plans. The agency will start to work on itineries and trip details in May.
• Continued to secure active professional influencers. We still are in need of securing one, final influencer in this category. Influencer fees in this category are high so we’ve been seeking the right fit for budget, brand, target audience, etc.
• Continued to update the summer media center on Vail.com. Working with our rep to fix a few bugs in the system that have not allowed up to update a few areas. We hope to have this fixed in the next two weeks.
• MYPR had several meetings with community partners to discuss summer pr efforts and how we can work closely with one another to support VLMD efforts. Sample Media Placements Each month we will provide the VLMDAC with highlight clips. The agency also will provide the VLMDAC with more comprehensive, analytic reports on a quarterly basis.
• Multiple Online Outlets Headline/Link: Colorado Unveils and Exciting Line-Up of New Summer Events, Attractions, Lodging Openings and Unmatched Recreational Pursuits Note: Result of MYPR sharing What’s New information with the CTO for their summer pr push.
• Vail Beaver Creek Magazine Headline/Link: 5 To Try in May Note: Result of MYPR responding to request for additional information from the reporter.
• Smart Meetings Headline/Link: Colorado Springs, Vail Boast Unique Art Offerings Note: Result of MYPR continually pitching reporter Dan Johnson. Upcoming Agency Travel

• Secure final active professional influencer.
• Continue outreach to fill final spots for the June press trip. Secure travel plans for the trip and begin working on the itinerary.
• Finalize the itinerary for the Mexico media trip and make all group reservations.
• Finalize trip details for individual media visits in June.
• Work with influencers to create their schedules and finalize all travel plans for June visits.
• Confirm three additional attendees for June media dinner in Denver.
• Pitch Memorial Day weekend regional media opportunities.
