Dear Charlie:
Pursuant to 2003 IBC Section 106.3.4, this is to inform you that 4240 Architecture, as the registered
architectural design professional in responsible charge for the Arrabelle Project, has reviewed the above
referenced proposed retail tenant improvement construction documents. To the best of our knowledge,
we find these documents compatible with the approved construction documents for the Arrabelle Project,
with the following notes:
• On Sheet A1.0 existing partition types are described, but no hourly ratings are noted for each
partition type. Further, fire-stopping materials are specified on Slieet SP.2, but a schedule of
applicable ratings for wall or floor assemblies is not noted. To assist in identifying the
appropriate ratings for the application of fire-stopping materials, the tenant's architect should
note that:
o Demising wall partition type G is a 1 hour rated fire barrier.
o Mechanical chase partition type D is a 2 hour rated fire barrier.
� o The east exterior building wall partition type F is a 1 hour rated exterior wall. The north
exterior building wall is unrated.
o The floor assembly has a 2 hour fire rating.
• Double storefront entrance doors are shown where only one entrance door is currently installed.
That revision will be handled by Vail Resorts and 4240 in a separate submittal package.
• The tenant restroom facility diagram provided by 4240 and dated March 20, 2007 is included
with the permit application to illustrate the travel distance to the nearest facilities. The distance
from this tenant space actually exceeds the code limit by some 20 ft., but you have already
indicated in separate correspondence that this is acceptable given specific mitigating
circumstances.
