Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com Data as of: 08/31/2019 Vail Production Notes RAO PRODUCTION NOTES: General RAO Notes: ➢ All months, except November and December, are showing an increase in inventory compared to last year at this time o August: +2,914 RNA or +94 units per day o September: +1,649 RNA or +55 units per day o October: +529 RNA or +17 units per day o November: -2,284 RNA or -76 units per day o December: -432 RNA or -14 units per day o January: +124 RNA or +4 units per day o February: +3,626 RNA or +125 units per day ➢ On the books occupancy is down -5.6% (-6.01% last month) over last year, while historic actual occupancy is down -3.8% (-0.72% last month) over last year ➢ On the books ADR is up +2.6% (+2.1% last month) over last year, while historic actual ADR is down -0.3% (-0.44% last month) over last year ➢ On the books RevPAR is down -3.2% (-4.0% last month) over last year while historic actual RevPAR is down -5.2% (+1.17% last month) over last year Summer Season: ➢ August gained +9.3% as an absolute measure of occupancy in August o Bookings made in August for August are up +1.8% in absolute variance vs those made last year in August for August ➢ September gained +9.1% as an absolute measure of occupancy in August o Bookings made in August for September are down -0.7% in absolute variance vs those made last year in August for September ➢ October gained +4.4% as an absolute measure of occupancy in August o Bookings made in August for October are up +1.1% in absolute variance vs those made last year in August for October ➢ As a measure of RevPAR summer season is now down -8.3% (-11.2% last month) compared to last year as of August 31, 2018 ➢ As a measure of ADR summer season is now down -0.3% (-1.9% last month) compared to last year as of August 31, 2018 ➢ As a measure of Occupancy summer season is now down -8.0% (-9.5% last month) compared to last year as of August 31, 2018 ➢ No months are showing an occupancy gain over last summer season (a measure noticed in the last report as well) ➢ September and October are showing ADR gains over last summer season Copyright (c) 2019, Sterling Valley Systems All Rights Reserved. Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com DOR PRODUCTION NOTES: August: ➢ August is underperforming versus last year for the majority of the month with most days experiencing a lower occupancy rate than last year o There are -1739 fewer bookings for the month than last year at this time o All underperformances noted after 15th have decreased their variance since the last report o The gains on the 24th actualized up +11.8% o Inventory is slightly up over last year throughout the month September: ➢ September as a whole is very slightly outperforming last year o Most bookings since the last report have been noticed in the middle of the month o The 8th is showing the largest outperformance versus last year, up by +19.7% o Inventory is higher than last year for the whole month October: ➢ October as a whole is underperforming last year o There are -789 fewer bookings than last year at this time o The 22nd has been experiencing a large underperformance versus last year, and has increased its variance since the last report, and remains down -16.4% o The day before Halloween is outperforming last year by +16.3% (+12.8% last report), while Halloween itself is down -3.9% (-1.15% last report) o Inventory is higher than last year for the whole month November: ➢ November has experienced little activity for the month, a measure noted for the last 5 reports, and has experienced a slight increase over last year’s performance o There are 113 more bookings than last year at this time o The largest outperformances are confined to the end of the month o Thanksgiving Day is up +6.9% over last year o Inventory is higher than last year for the whole month December: ➢ December is almost entirely outperforming last year for the whole month o There are 3081 more bookings than last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 6th, up +9.8% (+9.2% last report) over last year o Christmas is up +2.3% (+3.7% last report) over last year o New Year’s Eve is up +4.5% (+4.5% last report) over last year o Inventory is higher than last year for the whole month Copyright (c) 2019, Sterling Valley Systems All Rights Reserved. Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com January: ➢ January is underperforming last year for the majority of the month, with only the 28th and 29th outperforming last year o There are -2785 less bookings than last year at this time o The largest losses are noticed on the 22nd and 23rd, down -16% and -18% respectively, and have further increased their variance since the last report o The largest outperformance is noted on the 28th, up +7.3% (+8.5% last report), and the 29th, up +4.2% (+6.5% last report) o Inventory is higher than last year for the month February: ➢ February has seen very little change in performance since the last report o We expect to see bookings fill in the coming months as we get closer to the winter season o There are -2230 less bookings than last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 10th, down -19.1% versus last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 6th, up +6.7% versus last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year
