BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME
If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works) review and approval,
a Planning Depaffnent review or Health Departnent review, and a review by the Building Depaftment, the
estimated time for a total revierrv will bke as long as three (3) weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum
requirements. ResidenUal and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. Howwe, if residential or
smaller projects impact the various above mentioned depaftments with regard to necessary review, these
projects may also take three (3) week to review and approve.
Every attempt will be made by this depaflrnent to o<pedite this permit as soon as possible.

is not picked up by the expiration date, that I must still pay the plan check fee and that if I fail to do so it may

Unlawful deposits: Subject to subsection C thereof, it is unlawful for any person to litter, ttck or deposit, or cause to
be littered, tracked or deposited, sand, grarrel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice, or any other debris or material upon any
sfeet, sidewallt alley or public place, or any portion thereof,
Notice; Abatement: The Director of Public Works may notify and require any person who Molates or causes another
to violate the proMsion of subsection A hereof, or who has in the Director's employment a person who violates or
causes arrcther to violate Bre same, top remove such sand, gravel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice or any otter debris or
material within twenty four (24) hours after receipt of said notice by the Director of Public Wo*s. In the event the
person so noUfied does not cornply with the noUce within the period of time herein specified, ttp Director of Public
Works, or other authorized agent, may cause any such sand, gravel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice, debris or any other
material to be removed from any street or alley at the expense of the notified,

NoUce and Penalty: It is unlawful for any person to fail or refuse to comply with the notice of the Dircctor of Public
Wo*s as proMded in subsectjon B hereof, and any such perrcn shall, in addition to payrnent of the expense of removal
incurred by the Director of Public Works, as provided in subsection B hereot upon being found guilty of a violation
hereunder, be punishable as provided in Section 1-4-1 ofthis Code. (1997 Code: Ordinance 6 (1979).

No person shall park any vehide upon a street or at any other place within this Municipality in such a manner or under

Whenever any police officer finds a vehide attended or unattended, standing upon any portion of a steet or upon any
place within this Municipality in such a manner as to constitute a violation of any section of this Article, or left
unattended for a period of twenty four (24) hours or more and presumed to be abandoned under the condiUons
prescribed by Colorado ReMsed Stahltes section 42-4-1102, as amended, the officer shall require the vehicle to be
removed or cause it to be removed and placed in storage in the nearest garage or other place of safety designated or
maintained by this Municipality, and the cfnrges for towing and storage of such vehide shall be dtarged to the owner
ofthe vehide in addibon to a ten dollar ($10) impoundment charge. (Ord. 2(1968) 5 3: Ord. 28(1981) 5 1)

To Whom It May Concem:
A recent inspection of the above mentioned location has brought to our attention a
hazardous condition. The access to the electric meters has been blocked for a prolonged
period of time, hindering meter reading and emergency power shut off. This condition
could have serious consequences should the electric power need to be immediately shut
off to the building in an emergency. Since we are unable to read the meters, we cannot
provide accurate bills until this condition is corrected.
Local fire codes require that Holy Cross and emergency personnel be provided access
the meters at all times. The next scheduled meterreading aarc is fi10 () /0 .40(
We request access be available by that date. Thank you for'your persistence in
remedying this problem.

A. Unlawful deposits: Subject to subsection C thereof, it is unlawful for any person to litter,
track or deposit, ot "-si to be littere4 tracked or deposited, sand, gralel, rocks, mu4 dirt,
snow, ice, br any other debris or material upon any stree! sidewalk, alley or public place, or
any portion thereof.g. Notice: Abatement: The Director of Public Works may notifr and require any person who
violates or causes another to violate the provision of subsection A hereof, or who has in the
Director's employment a person who violates or causas another to violate the same, top
remove such sani, gravel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice or any otler debris or material within
twenty four (2a) houn after receipt of said notice by the Director of Public.Works. In the
event the person so notified does not comply with the notice within the period of time herein
specified, the Director of Public Works, or other authorized agent, may cause any such sand'
gravel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice, debris or any other material to be removed from any street
or alley at the expense ofthe notified.
C. Exceptions: The provisions of subsection A hereof shall not be applicable:

street or alley or of any wat€r main, sewer main, electricity line, gas line, telephone line
or any appurtenance thereto;

If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works)
review and approval, a Planning Departrnent review of Health Departrnent review, and a review
by the Building Deparhnent, the estimated time for a total review may take as long as three (3)
weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permit will have to follow the above
mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of
time. Holvever, if residential or smaller prqiccts impact the various above mentioned
departrnents with regard to necessary review, these projects may also take the three (3) week
period.
Every attempt will be made by this departnent to expedite this permit as soon as possible.

PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT PROCESS
How it relates to Buildinc Permits
Fill out our check list provided with a Buildine Permit Application.
If yes was answered to any of the questions then a "Public Way" is required. You
can pick up an application at either Community Development, located at 75 South
Frontage Road or Public Works, located at 1309 Vail Valley Drive.
Notice sign offs for utility companies. All utilities must field veriS flocate)
respective utilities prior to signing application. Some utility companies require up
to 48 hours notice to schedule a locate.
A construction traffic controVstaging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet of
paper. An approved site plan may also be used. This plan will show locations of
all traffic control devices (signs, cones, etc.) and the work zong (area of
Construction, Staglng, etc.). This plan will expire on November lst and will need
to be resubmitted for approval through the winter.
Sketch of work being performed must be submitted indicating dimensions (lengtt\
width and depth of work). This may be drawn on the traffic control plan or a site
plan for the job.
Submit completed application to the Public Work's offrce for review. If required,
locates will be scheduled for the Town of Vail Electricians and Irrigation crew.
The locates take place in the morning but may require up to 48 hours to perform.
The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and
approve or disapprove the permit. You will be contacted as to the status and any
requirements that may be needed. Most permits are released within 48 hours of
being received, but please allow up to one (l) week to process.
As soon as the permit is processed, a copy will be faxed to Community
Development allowing the "Building Permit" to be released. Please do not
confuse the "Public Way Permit" with a "Building Permit" which is to do work
on a project itself.
NOTE;
The above process is for work in a public way ONLY.
Public Way Permits are valid only until November 156.
A new Public Way Permit is required each year if work is not complete.
