D. 2019VFF_WrapReport AUGUST 15-18, 2019 16th Annual Vail Film Fes:val The 16th annual Vail Film Festival took place August 15-18, 2019 and celebrated female filmmakers, screening 46 films across features, documentaries, shorts, and student films. The festival program included filmmaker Q&As, and a female filmmaker panel discussionfeaturing four acclaimed directors. Festival events included the Opening Night Party, Filmmaker Reception, Awards Ceremony, and Closing Night Party. OVERVIEW PROGRAM 2019 Film Program The 2019 Vail Film Festival included World, North American, and Colorado premieres, with many of the filmmakers in attendance to support their films. Highlight Screenings The 2019 Vail Film Festival program included the world premiere of Lise Raven’s “Snaeland”, Vail local Meredith Kirkman’s “The Promise of the Butterfly”,and "Being Frank", the directorial debut of producer Miranda Bailey who was born and raised in Vail. Festival alums Kerry David and Rachel Wortell screened their new films, “Breaking Their Silence” and "Romance Analyst," and acclaimed singer Haroula Rose premiered her directorial debut "Once Upon a River." 2019 Attendance The 2019 Vail Film Festival drew attendees from across Colorado and the United States, with attendees also coming in from Europe and South America. The festival had over 4000 attendees for the 4-day event. Below is a snapshot of some of the coverage. 7 MEDIA 8 MEDIA SOCIAL MEDIA SOCIAL MEDIA The Vail Film Festival has over 18,000 Facebook fans, over 14,000 Twitter followers, and over 1200 Instagram followers. Beyond the Festival’s own followers, the Festival’s social media posts reached over 500,000 unique viewers leading up to and during the 2019 Vail Film Festival. MARKETING MARKETING The festival marketing campaign ran from early June through mid August, 2019. The following platforms and outlets were used, reaching over 1M unique viewers.
