Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com Data as of: 01/31/2020 Vail Production Notes RAO PRODUCTION NOTES: General RAO Notes: ➢ All months, except April and May, are showing an increase in inventory compared to last year at this time o January: +264 RNA or +9 units per day o February: +3,015 RNA or +104 units per day o March: +479 RNA or +15 units per day o April: -2,129 RNA or -71 units per day o May: -5 RNA or less than one unit per day o June: +4,683 RNA or +156 units per day o July: +4,024 RNA or +130 units per day ➢ On the books occupancy is up +1.4% (+2.7% last month) over last year, while historic actual occupancy is down - 1.4% (-1.2% last month) over last year ➢ On the books ADR is up +1.2% (+1.9% last month) over last year, while historic actual ADR is also up +2.8% (+2.9% last month) over last year ➢ On the books RevPAR is up +2.6% (+4.7% last month) over last year while historic actual RevPAR is also up +1.3% (+1.7% last month) over last year Winter Season: ➢ January gained +7.1 as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for January are down -1.4% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for January ➢ February gained +12.1% as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for February are down -2.4% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for February ➢ March gained +10.6% as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for March are down -2.7% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for March ➢ April gained +5.4% as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for April are up +2.8% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for April ➢ As a measure of RevPAR, winter season is now up +4.3% (+6.3% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ As a measure of ADR, winter season is now up +1.4% (+2.9% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ As a measure of Occupancy, winter season is now up +2.8% (+3.4% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ December, March, and April are showing occupancy gains over last winter season ➢ December, February, and March are showing ADR gains over last winter season ➢ Seasonal Inventory o For the entire winter season there are 467,318 room nights available, a +0.6% (+0.3% last report) increase over last winter season (464,682) Copyright (c) 2020, Sterling Valley Systems All Rights Reserved. Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com ➢ Seasonal Bookings o For the entire winter season there are 220,336 room nights booked, a +3.4% (+3.7% last report) increase over last winter season (213,129) Summer Season: ➢ May gained +0.8% as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for May are down -0.1% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for May ➢ June gained +4.2% as an absolute measure of occupancy in January o Bookings made in January for June are down -1.0% in absolute variance vs those made last year in January for June ➢ July has just come on the books and is showing 22.2% occupancy, down -10.5% over last year (24.8%) ➢ As a measure of RevPAR summer season is down -5.6% (-10.2% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ As a measure of ADR summer season is up +5.3% (+4.8% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ As a measure of Occupancy summer season is down -10.4 (-14.3% last month) compared to last year at this time ➢ No months are showing occupancy gains over last summer season ➢ May, June, and July are showing ADR gains over last summer season ➢ Seasonal Inventory o For the entire summer season there are 228,163 room nights available, a +4.0% (+0.5% last report) increase over last summer season (219,461) ➢ Seasonal Bookings o For the entire summer season there are 36,963 room nights booked, a -6.8% (-13.9% last report) decrease over last summer season (39,668) (This space is intentionally left blank) Copyright (c) 2020, Sterling Valley Systems All Rights Reserved. Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com DOR PRODUCTION NOTES: January: ➢ January actualized as a month of mixed performance, with strong performance in the first half and mostly underperformances in the second o There were -247 (+1858 last report) less bookings than last year for the month o MLK weekend averaged down -4.5% over last year o The largest underperformance was on the 22nd, down -11.3% (-14.2% last report) o The largest outperformance was on the 11th up +10.2% (+10.5% last report) o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month February: ➢ February performance is almost equivalent to last year for the majority of the month, with pronounced changes occurring in the first two weeks o There are +2122 (+1337 last report) more bookings than last year at this time o President’s Day Weekend is currently on average down -0.6% versus last year at this time o Valentine’s Day is down -3.8% (-1.4% last report) compared to last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 10th, down -10.4% (-15.9% last report) versus last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 6th, up +11.5% (+13.3% last report) versus last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month March: ➢ March is experiencing very similar performance as was reported last month with pronounced changes only occurring in the two weeks o There are +5639 (+5281 last report) more bookings than last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 15th, up +19.2% (+19.4% last report) over last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 9th, down -6.8% (-8.2% last report) over last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month April ➢ April is experiencing a strong increase in outperformance during the second week of the month, as most other dates have experienced very little change o There are +7164 (+6155 last report) more bookings than last year at this time o Easter (April 12th) is currently up +8.4% over last year at this time ▪ When comparing Easter Day 2020 to Easter Day 2019 (April 12th vs April 20th) occupancy is currently up +202.7% over last year at this time (20.4% vs 6.4%) o The largest outperformance is on the 7th, up +20.4% over last year at this time o The only underperformance is on the 29th, down -6.8% (-8.1% last report) over last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month Copyright (c) 2020, Sterling Valley Systems All Rights Reserved. Communications@Inntopia.com www.Inntopia.com May ➢ May remains a month with very little activity coupled with very low occupancy o There are -222 (+331 last report) less bookings than last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 28th, down -7.4% (-5.1% last report) over last year at this time o The largest outperformance is now on the 20th, up +10.1% (+9.8% last report) over last year at this time o Memorial Day Weekend is on average down -1.4% (+1.0% last report) over last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month June ➢ June has experienced some underperformances since the last report, and no days have increased their outperformance over last year o There are -1725 (-300 last report) less bookings than last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 4th, down -20.2% (-18.0% last report) over last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 17th, up +8.2% (+14.4% last report) over last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month July ➢ July has experienced mostly underperformances since the last report, though we expect bookings to fill as we get closer to the summer season o There are -1019 (+135 last report) less bookings than last year at this time o The largest outperformance is on the 15th, up +11.3% (+12.5% last report) over last year at this time o The largest underperformance is on the 7th, down -18.4% (-16.3% last report) over last year at this time o The 4th of July is currently down -5.2% (-1.8% last report) over last year at this time o Inventory is higher than last year for the entire month
