WHEREAS, the citizens For the Town of Vail in 1971 voted in
favor of the creation of a special capital improvements Fund to be
supported by a sales tax revenue for the acquisition of open space ter-
ritory and various public improvements to be constructed thereon; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has provided for the creation of
bicycle and pedestrian paths throughout the Town of Vail as the first
major undertaking of the capital improvements program endorsed by
the citizens of Vail; and
WHEREAS, the Town Manager and Town Council have on the
tenth day of August, 1973, officially dedicated the bicycle and p~destri an
paths within the Tawn of Vail; and
WHEREAS, in commemoration of the event of the creation of a
bicycle and pedestrian system and to further the public use of such a
system, the Town Council has determined that the week of August 11
through August 17, 1973, be decreed to be "Peddle and Walk Week:"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESO LVED BY THE TOWN COUNCI L
OF THE TOWN OF VAI L that in official recognition and commemoration
of bicycle and pedestrian paths within the Town of Vaii the week of
August 11 through August 17, 1973, be officially designated as "Peddle
and Walk Week."
