HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-01 National Housing Act of 1954s RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the National Housing .'pct of 1954, as amended, authorizes grants of federal funds to official state planning agencies to aid them in pro, viding planning assistance to municipalities with populations of less than 50, Q00 according to the 19x0 U. S. Census; and WHEREAS, the Colorado State Planning Office is the official planning agency for the State of Colorado and, as such, is qualified to receive grants of federal funds under the provisions of the National Housing Act of 1954, as amended; and VvHEREAS, under the provisions of the said National Housing Act of 1954, as amended, the said Colorado State Planning Office may apply to the Federal Government for two-thirds (2/8} of the cost of each planning project; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Revised Statutes 1933, as amended, require that the municipalities formally request the services of the Colorado State Planning Office as heretofore described; and WHEREAS, the funds are necessary to defray the expenses of said planning project and must be deposited, on request, with the said Colorado State Planning Office; NOV+i, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TkiE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF ~TATL that the State Planning Office is hereby 2_ requested to provide this municipality with planning assistance camprising such studies, surveys, technical services, and other planning work (excluding plans for specific public works) as the said Office deternnines desirable undex the existing circumstances; and BE IT FUR'T'HER RESOLVED That the said municipality hereby agrees to pledge and contribute £rom its appropriated funds the sum of FIVE 'T'HOUSAND DOLLARS (~ 5, 000.00), which surr~ is one-third (1./~~ of the total cast of the planning assistance to be furnished; to deposit with the Treasurer a£ the State a£ Colorado such portian thereof as may be requested during the progress of the warn; and to provide such technical services for the project within the capability of the municipality as sha11 be required by the Office, the total cost thereof not to exceed TWENTY'-FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (~2, 500.00, which amount shall be credited against the municipal funds above pledged.
