You਍ഀ can pick up an application at either Community Development, located at 75 South Frontage਍ഀ Road or Public Works, located at 1309 Elkhorn Drive.਍ഀ r Notice sign-offs for utility companies. ALL utilities must field verify (locate) respective਍ഀ utilities prior to signing application. Some utility companies require up to 48 hours notice to਍ഀ schedule a locate.਍ഀ A construction traffic control/staging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet of paper.਍ഀ An approved site plan may also be used. This plan will show locations of all traffic control਍ഀ devices (signs, cones, etc.) and the work zone, (area of construction, staging, etc.). This਍ഀ plan will expire on November 1st and will need to be resubmitted for consideration for਍ഀ approval through the winter. Be aware that your resubmission for winter may be denied਍ഀ depending on the location of construction.਍ഀ Sketch of work being performed must be submitted indicating dimensions (length, width਍ഀ and depth of work). This may be drawn on the traffic control plan or a site plan for the job.਍ഀ Submit completed application to the Public Work's office for review. If required, locates will਍ഀ be scheduled for the Town of Vail electricians and irrigation crew. The locates take place in਍ഀ the morning, but may require up to 48 hours to perform.਍ഀ The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and approve or deny਍ഀ the permit. You will be contacted as to the status and any requirements that may be਍ഀ needed. Most permits are released within 48 hours of being received, but please allow up਍ഀ to one (1) week to process.਍ഀ As soon as the permit is approved, the Building Department will be notified, allowing the਍ഀ "Building Permit" to be released. Please do not confuse the "Public Way Permit" with a਍ഀ "Building Permit".਍ഀ NOTE: The above process is for work in a public way ONLY. Public Way਍ഀ Permits are valid only until November 15th. A new Public Way Permit is required਍ഀ each year if work is not complete. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount਍ഀ of time. In the event the person so notified does not comply with the notice਍ഀ within the period of time herein specified, the Director of Public Works, or other authorized agent, may਍ഀ cause any such sand, gravel, rocks, mud, dirt, snow, ice, debris or any other material to be removed਍ഀ from any street or alley at the expense of the notified.਍ഀ ❑ Summons and Penalty: As an alternative to the notice for removal provided in subsection B above,਍ഀ any person who violates or causes another to violate the same, may be issued a summons to appear਍ഀ before the Municipal Court of the Town for said violations, and upon being found guilty of a violation਍ഀ hereunder be punished as provided in Section 1-4-1 of this code.਍ഀ ❑ Notice and Penalty: It is unlawful for any person to fail or refuse to comply with the notice of the਍ഀ Director of Public Works as provided in subsection B hereof, and any such person shall, in addition to਍ഀ payment of the expense of removal incurred by the Director of Public Works, as provided in subsection B਍ഀ hereof, upon being found guilty of a violation hereunder, be punishable as provided in Section 1-4-1 of਍ഀ this Code. (Ord. 2(1968) § 1)਍ഀ ❑ Whenever any police officer finds a vehicle attended or unattended, standing upon any portion of a਍ഀ street or upon any place within this Municipality in such a manner as to constitute a violation of any਍ഀ section of this Article, or left unattended for a period of twenty four (24) hours or more and presumed to਍ഀ be abandoned under the conditions prescribed by Colorado Revised Statutes section 42-4-1102, as਍ഀ amended, the officer shall require the vehicle to be removed or cause it to be removed and placed in਍ഀ storage in the nearest garage or other place of safety designated or maintained by this Municipality, and਍ഀ the charges for towing and storage of such vehicle shall be charged to the owner of the vehicle in਍ഀ addition to a ten dollar ($10) impoundment charge.
