1. Welcome Home Neighbor: this program continues to gain momentum and local
ambassadors are leveraging the message points. Vail and other towns have partnered to
extend the campaign to a print Vail Daily effort which will run through mid-August.
2. We are tracking traveler sentiment closely. Of concern, 4 in 10 surveyed do not plan to
travel in 2020. Millennial men with high income are most likely to travel. Travelers indicate
that wearing masks and social distancing are important in their travel decisions.
3. DestiMetrics: As the net activity produced net positive bookings, the increase shows
continued positive change in consumer behavior in the last 2 weeks, a continuation of the
trend noticed in the last 2 weeks of May. We now have 2 consecutive report-over-report
trends of positive net bookings, potentially indicating that consumers are ready to start
booking vacations in higher volume
4. December is about to come “on the books” and we’ll be tracking it closely as an early
indicator for winter.
5. Eagle County consumer spending is rebounding and is -16.8% of January benchmark via
