AEAPC will also assist in regulatory compliance with਍ഀ Town of Vail, State of Colorado and Federal requirements.਍ഀ The purpose of this investigation is to assist the Owner and the General਍ഀ Contractor in identifying any asbestos that may exist in the building and਍ഀ then assessing the hazard potential of any known asbestos, if identified.਍ഀ The investigation will also serve in ensuring compliance with all Federal਍ഀ and State of Colorado asbestos regulations including but not limited to:਍ഀ 40 CFR Part 61, USEPA NESHAP Clean Air Act; State of Colorado Regulation਍ഀ No. 08, Emission Standards for Asbestos: and 29 CFR 1926.1101, the OSHA਍ഀ Asbestos Construction Industry Standard.਍ഀ The asbestos inspection was undertaken by a State of Colorado Certified਍ഀ Inspector/Management Planner. A typical Floor Plan layout was provided਍ഀ for use during the inspection.਍ഀ The AHERA asbestos inspection process involves the following steps: visual਍ഀ inspection of the building and the identification of all suspect asbestos-਍ഀ containing building materials (ACBM's); perform a tactile inspection to਍ഀ determine friability of materials; bulk sampling and polarized light਍ഀ microscopic (PLM) sample analysis by a NIST/NVLAP accredited laboratory;਍ഀ and evaluation of laboratory reports. If asbestos is found the inspector਍ഀ will: (1) perform physical assessments of ACBM's; (2) assign of risk hazard਍ഀ assessments; and (3) recommend response action or removal activities.਍ഀ 1.2 The asbestos inspection was performed in accordance with requirements of਍ഀ USEPA 40 CFR 763 Subpart E, AHERA and 29 CFR 1926.62 and to the best of਍ഀ the Inspector's professional capabilities. All building areas as specified਍ഀ above, were inspected and evaluated during the development of this Asbestos਍ഀ Inspection Report.
