• Point of Care rapid test: 15 minute results - coming soon
• 9,000 in county have now had COVID 19
• Concern level has shifted from red to yellow – 150 cases in past two weeks. 40 in last
week
• Still 50% dining occupancy in Protect our Neighbor phase but could incorporate more
flexibility
• If you haven’t developed symptoms, you shouldn’t be tested until day 7 or the test will
likely come back negative

• Down 36% from 2019 but budgeted June 65% down
• 2020 sales tax collections decrease of 43%

• Structure of program of $1M was approved at 8/4 council meeting

• Business Lending Program
• Proposal to help restaurant community with winter operations (tenting)
• Looking to have numbers in next week
• Plexiglass dividers as a consideration as well
• Consider tents and warmers in public areas in winter, similar to summer open
consumption laws
• 120 day cap is currently in place for open consumption laws
• Outdoor picnic tables very well received and could add more
• Consider semi-permanent structure solution and not just tents.
• Consider the guest experience we are trying to provide that is up to Vail
standards
• Gift Card Program to boost shoulder season
• For guests to purchase as well as providing some to locals in need
• Communications effort to encourage use of face coverings
• Key issues are cost and sourcing
• Joint venture will drive cost down significantly

• Revitalizing Main Street Grant – State of Colorado

- Consider child care
- Higher quality or more service related
- A service business that could serve other business urgent needs
- Be sure to address redevelopment that will be affordable but not look dated
- Small businesses, not large chains
- Family and young professional housing

• Smaller events happening at Lower Bench in Betty Ford Alpine Gardens
• Ambient pop up music is happening throughout village, unpromoted to keep it organic
and allow for social distancing
• Art Festival coming to Lionshead Aug 21-22

• Town Manager’s Report, Scott Robson (10 minutes)
• Booth Heights discussions happening to find alternative housing sites. Ie: Mill Creek,
Children’s Garden of Learning but working on MOU for temporary and permanent
location for the Learning Center
• Positive discussion with Vail Resorts and Community relationships manager to discuss
key questions in winter operational planning and what the town can do to help ensure
there is a ski season, staffing, operations, transit, parking, etc.

• Fall promotional emails going out 8/25 and 9/9
• PPC and digital media running through end of September
• Traditional and digital media plan including a demographic agnostic fall video spot
launching mid-august through September.
