Vail Production Notes
DOR PRODUCTION NOTES:
General DOR Notes:
➢ Average Daily Performance for the current month and upcoming 6, December 1st, 2020 to June 30th, 2021, is
currently down -14.1% (-12.1% last report) compared to last year
➢ Since the last report (11/30), bookings activity for December 1st through May 31st, 2021 has yielded a net of
+9,229 or 9,229 new bookings. This level of net booking activity has decreased from the last report (+19,669)
o *It is important to consider that when we observe net statistics these numbers take into account a
summation of both bookings and cancellations as both types of activity were noted since the last report.
o **We cannot account for the net change to bookings for the month of June as this month is newly on the
books and therefore has no change from the prior report
➢ New booking’s arrival date distribution of the total 9,229 (19,669 last report) added since last report:
o December: +3,380 (+5,777 last report) or 36.6% (29.4% last report)
o January: +2,074 (+5,685 last report) or 22.5% (28.9% last report)
o February: +2,024 (+4,348 last report) or 21.9% (22.1% last report)
o March: +1,434 (+3,278 last report) or 15.5% (16.7% last report)
o April: +224 (+374 last report) or 2.4% (1.9% last report)
o May: +93 (-1,506 last report) or 1.0% (-7.7% last report)
➢ Net new bookings added since the last report (11/30) were roughly half that added between 11/15 and 11/30.
Many factors may contribute to the large change in trend, though most expected is consumer response to
changes in public health policy. December experienced the largest increase in net new bookings, with +1,744 or
51.6% of the month’s net new bookings arrival date distribution falling between the start of Christmas week and
New Year’s Eve (20-31). January added the second most net new bookings, though only slightly outpacing
February by +50 bookings, with +1,492 or 72% of the month’s net new bookings arrival date distribution falling
between New Year’s Day and Martin Luther King Day (1-18). May added the fewest bookings since last report
with +93 added, though this change in trend from a net reduction in bookings noted last report is a favorable
change in performance for the month. Consumer booking trends continue to favor arrival dates up to 90 days
away as +7,478, or 81% of all net new bookings have arrival dates of February 28th or before.
