Vail Production Notes
DOR PRODUCTION NOTES:
General DOR Notes:
➢ Average Daily Performance for the current month and upcoming 6, February 1st, 2021 to August 31st, 2021 has
improved since last report, but is currently down -9.9% (-10.7% last report) compared to last year
➢ Room Nights Booked (RNB) for the current month and upcoming 6, February 1st, 2021 to August 31st, 2021 total
143,089, and are currently down -52,071, or -26.7%, (-59,269 or -26.6% last report) compared to last year at this
time (195,160)
➢ Since the last report (01/31), bookings activity for February 1st through July 31st, 2021 has yielded a net of
+14,194 or 14,194 new bookings. This level of net booking activity has decreased from the last report (+32,381)
o *It is important to consider that when we observe net statistics these numbers take into account a
summation of both bookings and cancellations as both types of activity were noted since the last report.
o **We cannot account for the net change to bookings for the month of August as this month is newly on
the books and therefore has no change from the prior report
➢ New booking’s arrival date distribution of the total 14,194 (32,381 last report) added since last report:
o February: +6,835 (+10,237 last report) or 48.2% (31.6% last report)
o March: +7,292 (+6,790 last report) or 51.4% (21.0% last report)
o April: +1,131 (+1,923 last report) or 8.0% (5.9% last report)
o May: -973 (+1,430 last report) or -6.9% (4.4% last report)
o June: +256 (+2,244 last report) or 1.8% (6.9% last report)
o July: -347 (+3,620 last report) or -2.5% (11.2% last report)
➢ Since the last report (01/31/21) net new bookings volume has decreased by -56.2%. As noted previously, the
majority of net new bookings continue to have arrival dates 90 days or less away. While February took the lion’s
share of net new bookings last report, March has become a prominent choice in consumer booking activity
capturing 7,292 net new bookings, or 51.4% of the total. Of those bookings 84% had arrival dates from the 1st to
the 22nd, with bookings tapering off in the final week of the month. February captured the second most net new
bookings and has just produced its first outperformance versus last year, on the 12th. May and July both
experienced net cancellations since the last report, a stark change from the previous net new bookings, as the
majority of days are underperforming last year at this time. As vaccination rates increase, and public health
ordinances are reconsidered, there stands to be potential for more booking activity due to pent-up-demand.
