registration number and date on the cover paae of any structural calculations, all structural
details and structural sheets of the plans For commercial or multi-family projects all sheets of
the plans must be stamped.
Building Department Comments:
1 The plans are indicating a steamer for the shower and an electric heat mat under the floor tile in the
bathroom. Add these components to the electrical drawings and size the service accordingly. All new
drawings are not necessary, just the updated electrical drawings required.
Please refer to the cover sheet for information on resubmitting plans. In order to avoid delays in issuance of
a permit, please check all requested information is included with the resubmitted plans. Please submit
revised plans as a complete set. Partial plan resubmittals will not be reviewed.

FOR ALL REMODEL, ADDITION OR OTHER PROJECTS INVOLVING ANY DEMOLITION OR REMOVAL OF BUILDING

BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME
If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works) review and approval,
a Planning Department review or Health Department review, and a review by the Building Department, the
estimated time for a total review will take as long as three (3) weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum
requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. However, if residential or
smaller projects impact the various above mentioned departments with regard to necessary review, these
projects may also take three (3) weeks to review and approve.
Every attempt will be made by this department to expedite this permit as soon as possible.
I, the undersigned, understand the plan check procedure and time frame. I also understand that if the permit
is not picked up by the expiration date, that I must still pay the plan check fee and that if I fail to do so it may

Unit 103 — scanned chimney August 15, 2007. The viper and camer;� became hung up in
chimney approximately halfway to the top. The scan was continued frbm the roof. At
approximately 20 fee[&om the top, the 9" Class A chimney ends ancf t�rrninates into a
square duct, similar to HVAC ductwork This chimney is not install��d per
manufacturer's instructions and does not meet NFPA 2l 1 fire code_ Tl�is chimney is a
possible fire hazard and the fireplace should not be used until the chimney is replaced
with the proper CIass A chimney. Another alternative would be to re:mqve the entire
fireplace and chimney and install a gas fireplace with appropriate veirting.
Unit 203 —scanned chimney August 15, 2Q07. The conneetion at 23,5' above the f rebox
appeared to be damaged initialIy. However, upon further review there were no breeches
or separations. It appears that this chimney is properly insialled and safe to use. It also
appears safe to install flex liner for a gas fireplace.
Unit 208 — scanned chirnney Augusl 15, 2007. Found a small tear in tlr�iru�er liner of
Class A chiraney at the connection 5_4 feet above the fireboar.. It app��s that this damage
was caused during initial i.astallation of the clvmney. In addition, the�cc>anection a 10.2
feet above the fireplace is slightly damaged. The torn Iiner is a possii��� fire hazard and
the chimney should be repaired or replaced before the fireplace is use�d again. The tear is
small, however, and it should be possible to rcm flex liner for a gas fire��lace through the
existing chimney.

� 1.2 THE WORK CONSISTS OF
A Base Scope of Work:
Partial demolition and removal of areas of master bath and existing closet to provide remodeled and
expanded master bathroom and associated electrical, mechanical,finishes and appurtenances. In-
stall, new electrical, communications and fire sprinkler systems(Alternate K)and miscellaneous sys-
tems. Install miscellaneous framing and repair drywall assemblies affected by demolition and re-
construction as required. Remove existing fireplace and replace with new gas fireplace.

1.3 WORK RESTRICTIONS
A Contractor's Use of Premises: During construction, Contractor shall have limited use of site and
building as coordinated with building management.

building Owner and shall generally be limited to the condominium area and daily operations in parking
areas designated by management.
1 Contractor-in submitting construction costs for the work-shall include costs for site safety and
security as necessary in order to comply with applicable codes governing the work and for the
safety of the public.

SECTION 01200-GENERAL CONDITIONS
1.1 GENERAL
A Remove temporary facilities and controls before Substantial Completion. Personnel remaining after
Substantial Completion will be permitted to use permanent facilities, under conditions acceptable to
Owner.
B Contractor will be permitted to use power in the Work area.
C Provide temporary enclosures for protection of construction and workers from exposure and inclem-
ent weather and for containment of heat.
D Install project identification sign at door sidelight as required by Town of Vail:
E Collect waste daily and,when containers are full, legally dispose of waste off-site.
F Handle hazardous, dangerous,or unsanitary waste materials in separate closed waste containers.
Dispose of material according to applicable laws and regulations.
G Provide temporary barricades,warning signs, and lights to protect the public and construction per-
sonnel from construction hazards.
1.2 SELECTIVE DEMOLITION
A Maintain and protect existing utilities to remain in service before proceeding with demolition, providing
bypass connections to other parts of the building.
B Locate, identify, shut off,disconnect, and cap off utility services to be demolished or altered.

C Conduct demolition operations and remove debris to prevent injury to people and damage to adjacent

F Protect remaining walls, ceilings,floors, and exposed finishes. Erect and maintain dustproof parti-

1.4 OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE DATA
A General Contractor to assure all equipment is operable per manufacturer's requirements whether or
not equipment is installed by General Contractor
B If equipment installed by others is not operational General Contractor will be responsible for coordi-
nating with the supplier/installer to make equipment operational but will have no financial responsi-
bility for defective equipment unless equipment is made defective by contractor's improper installation
of utility supplying equipment.
1.5 TRAFFIC REGULATION
A General Contractor will be responsible for coordinating traffic flow and areas of parking lot to be used
as storage with building owner a minimum of 72 hours prior to traffic flow disruption. This will apply to
the use of cranes for installation of equipment, materials or equipment storage.
1.6 SECURITY
A General Contractor will be responsible for any security for the building, equipment or materials stored
inside the building or site stored equipment and materials until such time as a Certificate of Occu-
pancy or Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the use of the building by the Business Owner is
acquired from Eagle County
B Security will be defined as a locked and secured condominium accepted as reasonable within the
� construction industry.

SECTION 02072—MINOR DEMOLITION FOR REMODELING
1.1 GENERAL
A Conduct demolition to minimize interference with adjacent building areas.
B Cease operations immediately if structure appears to be in danger and notify ArchitecUEngineer. Do
not resume operations until directed.
C Prevent movement of structure; provide bracing and shoring.
D Notify affected utility companies before starting work and comply with their requirements.
E Mark location and termination of utilities.
F Demolish in an orderly and careful manner. Protect existing supporting structural members and in-
stalled plumbing assemblies, electrical equipment and ventilation equipment.
G Remove materials as Work progresses. Upon completion of Work, leave are�s in clean condition.
