Fixed Jambliner double hungs, BellePorte sliding patio doors, and Garden-Aire sliding patio doors with the wide-stile and -rail option
sre not available with aluminum cladding on the sash, but may be ordered clad profile. Heritage Series doors with raised panels are
not available with aluminum cladding on the sash (frames ARE available with aluminum cladding). Heritage Series basement and
garage windows are not available either with aluminum cladding or as clad profile units. Also, there may be instances in which an
exterior component of a clad window or door is finished with K-Kron to match the cladding of the overall unit.
s For easier installation, clad and clad profile units will include heavy vinyl nailing fins with integrated head drip caps as standard.
6 Units to be installed in or shipped through high altitude areas may not include argon gas. Also, small cutlites may not include argon
gas.
7 Please be aware that brass-plated handles may not be available on new orders until August 2003. Custom hardware colors are
available on outswing casement roto-style handles and operator covers; casement mullipoint lock handles and escutcheons; single
and double hung sash locks and keepers; and slider sash locks. Colors include brushed chrome and oilrubbed finish. Ask your
supplier for details.
6 Fiberglass mesh screen cloth is a charcoal color. Aluminum mesh screen cloth is available in two colors: bright aluminum and
charcoal. Aluminum mesh screen cloth is not available for sseens with brass frames. Brass screen frames are available for casement
and awning windows, except casements with radius tops. Most screen frames have corner keys for stability. Screens with brass
frames, with a chutney finish and/or screens for radius-top windows have mitered corners instead of corner keys.
e Recommended for installation on all units with exlerior brickmould; if requested, clips will be factory-applied to meet a DP20; to meet
higher DP requirements, additional clips must be ordered and installed in the field. Note that usually a half inch is allowed for insulating
and squaring the unit. One inch is recommended when installing units with installation clips.

applied to a total of 12". All exterior surfaccs, the under side ofthe operator cover, and the top ofthe sill are
coated with a high quality latcx primer. The assembled frarne has applied brickmould casing at the head
and sidejambs and sill nosing at thc base.
'l-tre sash ls constructed of kiln dricd Western pine, water-repcllent, prcservativc beated in accordance
with WDMA I.S. 4. The sastr is l-l l /16" ttrict with the corners having slot and-tenon construction
each joined by a double pin. The exterior surface is coated with a high quality latcx prlmer.
The extcrior of the frame and sash as standard are latex prlmed, ready for linish top coat or they rnay
be factory prefinished with high performance K-Kron. The interlor surfaces are unfinished, ready to
accept stain and varnish or paint. Optionat interior flnishcs lncludc a light oak stain, high quality
white latex primer, or an interior latex paint.
The sash has a full perimcter vinyl compression bulb weatherstrip while the Iiame has a full perimeter
foam-filled weatierstrip which remains rcsilient to malntain a positivc contact with the sash.
Operatoni arc dual-arm, roto style Entry-gard, (exccpt the Slim series which uscs one dyad type) with
concealcd heavy duty. a(ljustable hinges. The housing is formed from high pressure die-cast zinc and thc
gears and drivc worm are made of hardened steel. T)re cover is produced fiom high strength
polycarbonate. Exterior operator parts are coated with E-Garde, or for salt-water climates, a
Coast Gardr finish is an available option. Latches are cam-action, die cast zinc alloy cases and hardle
with zinc electroplated steel back plate and keeper. Cover, crank, and latching hardware are availablc in a
chotce of Clay, White, Beige, or Brass finish.
All glass is premiun quality float and when fabricated into hermctically-sealed insulating units
measurcs 718" (23.0 mrn) overall with a 5/8" (16.0 mm) sealed air spacc. The unit is bedded into the
glass rabbet with a glazing tape and silicone sealant retained by an interior wood glazing bead fastened
to the sash. Standard glazing is LoE, argon filled insulating glass or any other standard industry colors
and thicknesses of glass are available. For units installed tn or traveling through high altitude areas,
breather tube units are available, atr fillcd. Tr,te Divided Lite giazing utilizes 5/8" (16.0 mm) overall
insulating glass.
Screens are fabricated from .024" aluminum roll form frame surrounds with charcoal fiberglass screen
cloth (18 x l6 mesh) hcld tn place by spring loaded plungers. The surround sections arejoined and
reinforced with a corner key. Available colon include clay, white, or beige. Brass scrcen frames are also
available, having mitered corners. An aluminum scrcen cloth is also available.
Renrovable grilles, with a full surround, are fabricated from clcar, kiln dried Western pine. The grille
bars measure 718" x 1/2" and are available in a colonial (rcctangular) or diamond pattern with
machined profiles on both sides of the bars to creat€ a realistic simulation of true divided lites. A grille
bar which mcasures l- l/8" x 1/2" is also available.
Crilles in thc ainpace are available ln colors to match our selection of standard clad colors. The
aluminum grille measures 5/8" wide x 3/16" and is installed inside the hermetically sealed unit.
Additional color options include bright brass, light wood grain, dark wood grain, and a bi color with
wood grain on one side and white on thc other. A profiled bar measuring 3/4" x 5/16" is also available
in our sclectlon of standard clad colors along with a brass pencil bar measuring 5/16" x 5/16".
The Simulite K-bar glazing system gives the appearance of authentic true divided llte without
sacrlficing ener$., effictency. The system utilizes a permanently adhered wood grille bar to the interior, a
permanently adhcred aluminum grille bar to the exterior, and an aluminum mill finish color spacer bar
between the two panes of glass. Grille bal width options are 7 /8" or l-l/8" .
True divided fite glazing is available with 7/8" or l-l/8" wide muntin bars for single glazing and
I - l/8" bars for insulating glass. Other bar widths arc availablc upon request. Thc horizontal and vertical
interlocking solid pine bars utilize half-lapjoints.
