Vail Local Marketing District Lodging Liaison

Project Overview:
The Vail Local Marketing District (VLMD) would like to bring in a lodging liaison to engage the
local lodging community on various subjects and issues and to enhance communication.
Through this effort, the lodging liaison should bring the lodging community in closer alignment
with the activities of the VLMD. The lodging liaison will collaborate with lodging sales and
marketing representatives to form a collective voice and gain insights to inform the VLMD’s
marketing effort.
Project Duration:
October 1 – December 31, 2020
Responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
• Cultivate effective relationships with each participating lodge leadership representatives
• Gain consensus on key issues and report out to VLMD
• Organize quarterly Lodging Round Tables (in conjunction with VR, VCBA, and VVP)
• Be a collective voice at civic meetings including but not limited to Town Council,
VLMDAC, etc.
• Increase awareness of VLMD efforts, goals and results in lodging community
• VLMD Partner Collaboration
• Assist Town of Vail/VLMD with increased visibility, offers and information on lodges
• Create and maintain lodging presence on DiscoverVail.com
• Facilitate database growth through lodging collaboration when and where possible
• Collaborate with Town of Vail to connect lodging community to Town efforts and assist
with event promoters needs within lodging community
• Establish and evaluate KPI benchmarks
Approach to the Work:
Understand: I will initiate this endeavor by seeking to understand current state of Vail’s lodging
community by immersing myself within each participating lodge to gather insights
Evaluate: I will then take the learnings and more deeply assess the insights to establish a
consensus of what are the critical priorities, the areas of opportunity, and short-term and long-
term strategic imperatives.
Mobilize: Once a roadmap is established, I will prepare a strategic and tactical action plan to
execute within 2020 and throughout 2021 (if contract awarded). This roadmap will incorporate
all of the deliverables referenced above as well as meaningful KPIs will be determined.

Notable Career Achievements:
As AMH Advisory is my new start-up consulting firm, I do not have a current list of clients,
however, please find below three relevant career highlights showcasing KPI achievement:
• Consistently achieved or exceeded annual budgeted revenue goals through a fully
integrated sales and marketing plan; most dramatic KPI achievement in this regard, was
in 2015, I was charged with a 20% topline revenue increase within two years; achieved
25% increase equating to a $10 Million topline increase by 2017
• As a part of my work as Global Sales Operations Director for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
Company, I developed and executed the overall strategic and tactical plan against a
global launch of the new social recognition platform, which included stakeholder
education and alignment, including global officers of Marriott Intl, global
communication plans, resource deployment and vendor management. This platform
developed between 2012-2014 is still in use today by all Marriott sales organizations
World-Wide.
• Each year and within every hotel, employee satisfaction is a critical KPI for each division
head. Every year that I served as a Director of Sales and Marketing, I achieved the
highest departmental employee satisfaction score within the hotel, boosting the overall
hotel score. In 2012, 2016 and 2017, in the midst of team restructuring demands and
dramatic revenue improvement expectations, I achieved 100% employee satisfaction
scores.

Investment:
To represent the lodging community that hosts over One Million visitors into the Town of Vail
during the non-ski months, I will dedicate the time required to perform against the deliverables
within the three-month project duration timeframe for a total budgeted investment of $12,000.
Upon acceptance, a contractual agreement will be provided for review and signature.
