PITKIN COUNTY Special Event Permits In response COVID-19: Any Special Events proposed in April and May 2020 are cancelled. The current COVID- 19 modeling supports a peak of COVID-19 cases in Colorado in May, and with that said we may see the April 30, 2020 Public Health Order extended into May. It’s difficult and nearly impossible to know that with certainty today (April 7, 2020). The recommendation from the Incident Management Team (IMT) and the Public Health Director is that any special event proposed in May 2020 that congregates people should be cancelled, and that the IMT will continue to revisit the ever-changing COVID-19 situation moving forward. Please know we are still accepting online Special Events Applications, but will follow up with more information sometime in May 2020 or sooner with a Special Events update. Although an online Special Events Application may be filled out the event could still be cancelled if the April 30, 2020 Public Health Order extends. An Applicant may be able to reschedule the Special Event. In order to reschedule a Special Event the Applicant should submit an online Special Event Application 90 days prior to the proposed special event date(s). Again, as specified before, although an online Special Events Application may be filled out the event could still be cancelled if the public order extends. SNOWMASS Updated as of 4/30/2020.
