In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxVail are local self-organized events, where x = independently organized TED event.
We
bring people together to share TED-like experiences, TED Talks, and live speakers combining deep discussion and connection.
The
TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to
certain rules.)
About TED
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a conference in California 1984, TED has grown to
support those world-changing ideas with many initiatives.
At a TED conference, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less. TED
speakers have included Roger Ebert, Sheryl Sandberg, Bill Gates, Elizabeth Gilbert, Benoit Mandelbrot, Philippe Starck, Ngozi
Okonjo-Iweala, Brian Greene, Isabel Allende and former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
On TED.com, talks from TED conferences are shared with the world for free as TED Talks videos. A new TED Talk is posted every
weekday. Through the Open Translation Project, TED Talks are subtitled by volunteers worldwide. Through our distribution
networks, TED Talks are shared on TV, radio, Netflix and many websites.
The TEDx initiative grants free licenses to people around the world to organize TED-style events in their communities with TED
Talks and live speakers. Selected talks from these events are also turned into TED Talks videos.
The annual TED Prize grants $1 million to an exceptional individual with a wish to change the world. The TED Fellows program
helps
world-changing innovators from around the globe to become part of the TED community and, with its help, amplify the impact of
their remarkable projects and activities. The TED-Ed initiative creates short video lessons by pairing master teachers with
animators, for use in classroom instruction or independent learning.

WE've hosted already a full week on EDUCATION and education often appears as a thread in many conversations.
In every conversations we curate a teen or youth who is either a leader in that topic or a locally engaged youth to elevate their
voice and put them in a zoom room with Xperts, elders, NGO's, CEO's to shine a light on what they are all thinking about. The
learning is multi directional. For Xample, the CEO of As You Sow was keenly interested in the efforts of the Yale Youth Climate

COVID and climate are two of the most pressing problems our community is actively solving right now. We are searching for clues

We hosted Dr. Rattan Laval just before he received his World Food Prize from the UN.

These conversations will be edited and uploaded to the TEDxVail website, shared on social media. We'll also distribute these
among the networks of guests-so far 320 guests. All guests are asked for their calls to action to generate long-lasting local
COVID/climate impact.
Previously: TEDxVail has been produced over 200 Talks with over one million views generated from Vail Valley.
Our attendees have shared the following feedback about how our events have impacted their lives by:
"helped me restart my an art career"
"saving people from deep depression and suicide"
"embarking on international service trips"
"starting new business and social ventures"
"funding new projects"
"adopting different mindsets for greater acceptance and understanding"
"healthier participants from hearing our health-focused talks on diabetes, hormone balance, choosing doctors, stem cells,
regenerative movement, laughter"
8. EE - Growth Potential: How will the event or program deliver fresh content and enhanced experiences?
We will collaborate with TEDx's in Mexico, Brazil, Alaska and Canada. October 3rd and 4th. Then we'll livestream TED's climate
action conference COUNTDOWN on October 17.This will be the kickoff of a year long effort in five areas by TED: energy,
infrastructure, food, nature,
9. EE - Growth Potential: How will the event or program achieve recognition and drive participation?
These conversations are curated to seek solutions leading ultimately to local action. This is original and xperimental. Often it's the
unusual application of new technology that gets the attention and becomes the efforts that are cared about the most. No other
TEDx's are using zoom in this way. Most are still hosting prerecorded TEDx Talks. We believe it is in the flow of a conversation
that real ah ha's can happen among distinct guests.
10. EE - Marketing Strength: What is the marketing reach for the event or program? (Reach refers to the total
number of different people or households exposed, at least once, to a medium during a given period.)
We are actively sending email blasts. We are growing our numbers organically. We are tweaking a marketing effort now. We
invested $500 in Facebook ads and are doubling down on growing the attendees organically through networks. Through
grassroots marketing and social media, we estimate our reach could be up to 200,000 (100 attendees x 2,000 average personal
Facebook.) Additional social media channels include Instagram, and Twitter.
11. EE - Marketing Strength: How will the event or program leverage media and attract donor and sponsorship
support?
We are still looking for partners. Our first priority was to make sure we had an idea that was interesting to guests. Next is to find a
pathway for partners to support the remaining series. We applied to Climate Reality before we started the conversations,
subsequently learned we did not receive it.
12. EE - Producer Qualifications: Explain the event or program producer’s quality, knowledge and resources to
sustain and grow the event.
We are all learning rapidly about online production. We have successfully produced 16/28 conversations already. We are learning
ways to make them deeper, more fun, and action producing.

Why?
We’ll connect the dots between biĀ ideas and practical solutions
ÿrom a 360 deĀree lonĀview. Chaos ÿrom mutiple current crises
(COVID-19, climate, racial, economic, financial, biodiversity),
scares us. What to do about climate can be overwhelminĀ and
conÿusinĀ. We’ll find clues to resilience. IteratinĀ solutions rapidly
to as many as ÿast as possible throuĀh as many channels as we
can makes urĀent sense now. Paired with local resources, younĀ
activists will enerĀize local solutions, have much to create ÿrom
each session, and surprise us with ÿresh eyes. GeneratinĀ trust by
servinĀ up ÿacts and ÿeelinĀs in ÿun ways, TEDxVail and Climate
Reality Leader Āuests will listen to each others’ ideas, ÿears, and
loves to deliver local solutions to ÿrontline communities.
