Vail Skating Festival Update 2020 4 to 5 Week Schedule Ice Show Steadman Clinic/Steadman Philippon Research Institute’s 2020 VAIL SKATING FESTIVAL Elite Ice Exhibition Solaris Ice Rink Made possible by the Town of Vail, Commission of Special Events, and Vail Rec District Saturdays (Nov 28th, Dec 5th, 12th, 19, and 26th) Overview: 15 to 18-minute show featuring elite skaters. Solaris Ice Rink is a great venue for social distancing with multiple levels to watch the show from (balcony, walkway, or rink side) Two shows per Saturday night (possible times 5:00pm /6:00pm or 5:30pm/6:30pm. Featuring elite solo male and female skaters as well as a pair/dance team, group numbers, and if the TOV/CSE want local talent we could have one number by the Skating Club of Vail. Many of our skaters are current Team USA members. If US Figure Skating (our governing body) does not want skaters performing prior to the US Cha mpionships in January of 2021, we will supply our event with seasoned professionals. One of the possible professionals is a US and International Champion who plays Elsa from Frozen in Disney on Ice. Shipstad Entertainment will be able to deliver an amazi ng show for the guests and residents of the most beautiful resort in the World, VAIL! This will be an event that is safe, that the guests will always remember, and that they experienced it in the Town of Vail. Show Options: Option #1 5 Saturdays with two nightly shows (Nov 28th, December 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th) $8,000 per Saturday night (two shows included in the fee) World and Olympic Addition to option #1: $1,500-$2,000 we can add a special guest (example: former Olympian: Mirai Nagasu) Fee includes their performance fee, travel, food per diem, hotel Option #2 One day exhibition the week of the Christmas holiday with two free 15 to 18 -minute shows $10,000 Request for assistance from VRD, TOV, and CSE We would need assistance from the TOV/CSE/VRD for the following things: Advertising (posters, banners around town, ads in the Vail Daily, as well as being able to use 2-3 spot lights (Dobson Arena/ set up and taken down by Dobson Arena or TOV employees). If we are not able to use Dobson’s spotlights, we will need to add $750 to the event fee for rental spots. Options 1 and 2 include the following: Elite Team USA and seasoned professionals Hotel for 5-6 rooms for skaters/staff for Saturday nights Skater fees US Figure Skating Sanction/Insurance Basic theatrical lighting Rehearsal time, music and voice over recording and editing Travel expenses for skaters Solaris Ice Rink Rental Shipstad Entertainment fees Option #3: 5 Saturdays with two nightly shows with US National competitive skaters (Nov 28th, December 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th) $5,500 per Saturday night (two shows included in the fee) Option #3 Includes the following: Elite US National Competitive Skaters Skater fees US Figure Skating sanction Rehearsal time, music and voice over recording and editing Travel expenses for skaters Solaris Ice Rink Rental Shipstad Entertainment fees Weather addition for option 3: If the weather is snowing and road conditions are not ideal, a $1,500 fee will be added to house the skaters for Saturday evening. Option #3 has the skaters driving to and from Colorado Springs or Denver in one day. Having this option is necessary for t heir safety. Please note: All options are negotiable.
