COVID-19 Impacts
4
•Describe the changes made to the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As restrictions were lifted this spring, we were very excited to see more people coming to our shows. Neighboring restaurants
and businesses were busy and people were elated to be able to enjoy live music in Vail. With our concerts held in open spaces,
people were able to keep socially distant and this created a safe and fun atmosphere for all.
•What learnings from COVID-19 do you foresee rolling forward into future events.
People are more aware of their surroundings and other people around them. With our open-air events, attendees can chose
their personal level of safety when it comes to COVID. They can have the freedom to dance with others or be in their own space.
•What were the biggest challenges cause by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Monitoring of social distancing, as people have different personal views of the pandemic in general. Our set up was the same at
every event and overall, we encountered no issues with our attendees.

•Number/percentage of people who attended the event last year:
Approximately 30%
Estimated Attendee Profile Results
6
•Attendees came from (local, regional, out of state, international):
We have a large variety of people from all walks of life. Our local Vail Valley
residents attend numerous shows and follow us on social media to see when
and where we will be playing next.
We also have loyal groups of fans from the Front Range and further that
know us from Shakedown Bar. Many annual visitors are very excited to see
our family-friendly Pop-Up shows becoming a Vail staple.
Out-of-state and international visitors are pleasantly surprised when they see
our concerts. The welcoming and fun atmosphere that’s created at our shows
brings people together from all ages and all cultures to enjoy live music in the
Town of Vail.
Event Strengths & Weaknesses
9
•How did the event exceed expectations?
With restrictions lifted, seeing restaurants with full patios and busy shops
around our concerts brought great energy to our events.
•What are areas for event improvement?
Being able to broaden the possible locations for our shows to maximize the
benefits for local businesses throughout Vail.
•How did this year’s event compare to last year?
With COVID restrictions lifted in the spring, it was a much more relaxed
environment. Families were able to meet, dance, and interact with each
other. We experienced an obvious increase in attendance from last year.
Vail Brand Compatibility
The Premier International Mountain Resort Community
10
•How did the event /program support the Vail Brand?
By providing the highest level of entertainment around, right in the heart
of Vail. Our roster of musicians and song choices appeal to multiple
generations and is truly a unique experience that you can’t find anywhere
else. Our concerts represent entertainment that the whole family can
enjoy –grand babies to grandma and grandpa regularly dance with us in
Vail.
Brand Positioning:
•Town of Vail: The Premier International Mountain Resort Community
•Vail Mountain: Like nothing on earth
Community Contribution
11
•How did the event impact Vail’s sense of community?
All of our musicians are long-time locals of the Vail Valley or the Front
Range, who love Vail. Our artists live in and promote our local
community, mountains, and businesses.
Many of our friends are local business owners and their success is our
events’ success.
We are a small community that sticks together and there is nothing
better to bring people together than live music.
Topline Marketing Efforts
12
•What are the top 3 successful marketing tactics, executions or results from your
event/program?
Word -of-mouth from local businesses at all locations we play. A-Frame signage
promoting the summer-long concert series.
Social media posts leading up to and during the events that tag Discover Vail, checks
in at “Vail, Colorado” and tags all performing artists.
Shakedown Presents deep roster of artists represents a wide variety of music genres
and each artist has his/her own following that sees what we’re doing her within the
Town of Vail.
Potential for Growth & Sponsorships/Media Exposure
13
•How do you see the event evolving next year?
We have invested in more video production gear. We would like to evolve our events by incorporating a streaming
experience for those family members and friends around the world who are not able to attend our shows nor visit
Vail. We hope to livestream our events on DiscoverVail.com and social media channels to drive online traffic.
•What sponsors do you plan to target next year?
Local restaurants, retailers and lodging partners that can offer sponsorships surrounding our concerts will help
with more exposure to discovervail.com.
How will you leverage media exposure and extend the marketing reach next year?
With livestreaming on websites and social media channels, we want to drive direct traffic to discovervail.com.
Promotions for Town of Vail, businesses, and sponsorship ads could bring sponsorship dollars/revenue in the door.
Sustainability Efforts
14
•What measures were taken at your event/program to support the
environmentally-friendly goals of the Town of Vail?
All Town of Vail facilities and waste management practices were utilized during our performances.
After every show, we do a sweep and micro clean of the surrounding area and appropriately recycle or
dispose of anything found onsite.
•What waste reduction methods were used during your event/program?
Our event does not serve food or beverages. We make sure the area is clean prior and after our event.
•How could you improve on sustainability efforts for next year’s event?
If the Town of Vail has a program that needs to be promoted we could use our event platform to
promote the program. All Town of Vail waste protocols are currently used.
The Town of Vail is committed to the stewardship and protection of our unique mountain environment. In consideration of both
our local and global impacts and opportunities, our environmental vision is to demonstrate and promote: renewable energy,
resource efficiency, ecosystem protection, and community awareness and education.

SUMMER 2021
To the Town of Vail and all else involved,
This summer’s pop-up concert venues in Lionshead and Solaris were just what we
all needed after a very trying 2020. To all the participant’s including Scott Rednor,
Michael Jude, Jon Michel, Rob Eaton Sr. and Jr., Kory Montgomery, and the crew from
Shakedown Bar, we all are grateful over here in Lionshead for such a great summer.
From the outstanding quality of the music to seeing smiling faces out in the mall again
we would like to say thanks again to the TOV for putting on such a great summer/fall
series. This town has some world class musicians that are very happy to entertain and
play for us locals in this awesome Vail Valley!! KUDOS TOV!! Let’s keep the concert
series rolling every year!

Vail
Town of Vail,
I wanted to send you a short note to praise the outdoor music produced by
Scott Rednor and Shawkedown Production team. During performances the
energy and traffic dramatically increased in Solaris Plaza. We would absolutely
continue to support music in the plaza and town.
Thank you,
Brian Butts
