BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME
If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works)
review and approval, a Planning Depaftment review or Health Deparhnent review, and a
review by the Building Depaftment, the estimated time for a total review will take as long
as three (3) weeks.
All commercial (large or small) and all multFfamily permits will have to follow the above
mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small pCIects should take a lesser
amount of time. However, if residential or smaller projecb impact the various above
mentioned departrnents with regard to necessary review, these projects may hke five
(5) weeks to review and approve.
Every attempt will be made by this department to expedite this permit as soon as
possible.
I, the undersigned, underctand the plan check procedure and time frame. I also
understand that if the permit is not picked up by the expiration date, that I must still pay
the plan check fee and that if I fail to do so it may affect future permits that I apply for.

Kkstq Environmental (Kinstey) has initiated a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Phase I
ESA) of a portion of l,ot AC, Block 5-C, Vail Village, First Filing, Eagle County, Colorado. a,k.a :
The Lodge Souih Tower Site The purpos€ of the Phase I is to determine the potential for. past
and/or current activifies at the site, or on adjacent lands, to negatively impact the subject property from
an environmental perspective and to identifr and record any existing, potential or suspect "recognized
environmental conditions" tbat may impose a iiability to, or restrict the use of, the subject properry.
A vizual inspection of the subject site and adjacent properties was conductedby Kinsley in March
1997. On February 28th the building was inspected by the Knsley representafive accompanied by lhe
building svperintendent Mr. Jerry Sniwty-l8 yrs, Experiencel, however, an additional exterior
inspection was also performed on March 19m and additional pictures were taken, The inspection and
discussion with Mr. Snively revealed that the subject property is environmentally clean wlth respect to
visual inspection. As part of the Phase I, ttrree interviews have been conducted with persons
knowledgeable ofthe site as required under the guidetines of ASTM1527-94. The aerial photographs
of the zubject area have been reviewed fiom 19\1971, 1981, & 1991. Also, a regulatory agency
data base search was conducted, and the inspectors walked tirough the entire property, entenng
several representative condominiums, and noting all itemb gf envronmental interest, The investigation
has revealed that this property is above gradient to most ofthe developed land to the north and is
below gradient to the base of the Vail Ski fuea. The property was used as graeing land until 1962.
From 1962 to 1971 property was used for open ground and stagrng equipmurt. The constmction of
the building began in 1971 and was completed n 1972. AlthougtL most of the 42 condominiums have
been remodeled over the years, one unit is the same as originally completed, That one unit contains no
asbestos or lead paint, none of either itefl was used in the original building. The
rest of thc building was inspected, entering sweral ftut not all) additional condominiums No
envirqilnental problems were encountered in this building or fom the sunounding properties as found
in lhe dsta bank inspection.
